The Craziest Features You’ll Find in Vegas Hotels

Las Vegas is known for truly pushing boundaries. Taking things to the extreme is the lifeblood of the city, which is why it makes sense that there are so many outlandish features in the various hotels on the strip. Here are just some of the wild things you’ll encounter in this famous city.

Real Gondolas on Fake Canals at the Venetian

What could be more romantic than riding in a gondola with your partner, kissing as you pass under each bridge while being serenaded by the gondolier? It doesn’t matter that the gondolas are running on fake canals, this 15 minute trip around the hotel is one of the biggest attractions.

You might save on air fare to Italy, but a trip on a fake canal isn’t cheap. In fact, it costs more to ride in a gondola on a fake canal at the Venetian than to experience the tourist trap for real in Venice. We’re sure romantics don’t mind, though, as the kitsch Vegas version can easily be combined with other incredible attractions in Las Vegas.

The Volcano at The Mirage

Ever wanted to see a volcano erupt without the fear of getting burned? The Mirage has one right on the strip! You don’t even need to go into the hotel to experience this incredible show, as the lights, music and pyrotechnics combine to create an amazing erupting volcano.

The volcano erupts every night at 8, 9 and 10pm. It was revamped to feature even more impressive effects, including water shooting 120 feet in the air along with bigger fireballs and flames.

Sports Betting at Caesar’s Palace

Can you ever have too many screens? Not at Caesar’s Palace! They have six screens that are 12′ by 15′, as well as a 20×50′ LED board. That’s on top of the 12 50″ plasma screens throughout the sports book and 140 seats with a 12″ flat screen at every table.

So many screens means so many, many sports to bet on. Plus, this is the hottest ticket in town for major sporting events like the Super Bowl. Whether you want to bet on the horses or the NBA, the Super Bowl or the World Cup, you can see it all in this luxurious sports betting area. You might just go home with screen envy, though.

The Fountains at The Bellagio

The Fountains of Bellagio have become so iconic that they almost define Las Vegas itself. You simply can’t visit the strip without taking in one of the choreographed shows. Plus, they’re totally free, making it a nice break if your bankroll needs some breathing room.

Could you believe that a fountain could be classical in one moment and seductive in the next? With a wide range of musical numbers and some incredible lights and displays, you’ll be truly amazed by what these fountains can do.

Roller Coasters at Circus Circus

The ride through the Adventuredome may only last 72 seconds on El Loco at Circus Circus, but this rollercoaster is truly unique. Each seat in the four-person car has a built-in surround sound system, so you can listen to your own customized soundtrack – in between screaming, of course. Plus, El Loco is included in the all-day ride pass at the Adventuredome, making it great value for families visiting Las Vegas.

Then there’s still the Canyon Blaster. This is the world’s only indoor double-loop, double-corkscrew roller coaster that will hurtle you through the Adventuredome at a ridiculous 55mph.  It might even get your heart pounding faster than when you go all in at the poker tournament.

The Beach at Mandalay Bay

Considered one of the best pools in America, Mandalay Bay’s aquatic playground has 2,700 tons of real sand, a 1.6 million gallon wave pool and even a lazy river to float on. You can rent a cabana or day bed, or even bring your own inflatable recliner that they will blow up for you. Towels are included at the pool, so there’s no need to bring one.

It’s hard to imagine finding an ideal beach in the middle of the desert, but that’s what you’ll get at Mandalay Bay. With all the extras you would expect like cocktails and delicious food, this might become your new favorite beach in the world.

LEVEL UP arcade MGM Grand

Gambling is changing. While there will always be a place for blackjack, poker and slots at the best casinos in Las Vegas, there’s a shift towards other types of gaming as well. That’s where the adults-only LEVEL UP arcade at the MGM Grand comes in.

Whether you’re looking to play some huge Pacman, or challenge your friends to some beer pong, LEVEL UP has it all. This is a true adult playground, with arcade games, VR experiences along with a fully stocked bar and attentive hosts.
