At the end of 2015, the Resorts World Birmingham Casino officially opened and immediately set tongues and pulses racing as England’s second city welcomed the super casino resort amidst a storm of controversy. Critics of the resort claim it will negatively impact social culture within the city, but supporters of the resort back it as a huge revenue maker.

What Is It?

Resorts World Birmingham Casino is the latest super casino resort to open its doors in England. Under the 2005 Gambling Act, super casinos were given the green light and the Casino Advisory Panel has given the go-ahead for eight of the super casinos to be built. Ones are already open and operational in East London and Milton Keynes. This Birmingham super casino resort is the most recent addition to the market and undoubtedly the most high-profile.

The Genting International Casino

The Genting International Casino is the central point of the resort where players can play on one of the 31 classic casino table games such as blackjack, roulette, baccarat, poker, plus a wide range of 150 of the latest slot machines that offer £10,000 jackpot prizes with some also linked to the £20,000 progressive jackpot prizes. This new super casino resort is set to be one of the biggest in the UK with a capacity to hold 2,000 players at any one time. It cost an estimated £150 million to build and is located on Pendigo Way on the east side of Birmingham. It will be open 24 hours a day and will employ 1,200 members of staff. Guests that want to relax and unwind can also make use of the Santai Medispa that offers a 15 metre heated pool, salt cave, sauna, outdoor hot tub, and gymnasium. A number of spa treatments are also available including high performance facials, anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers, laser treatments, microneedling, facial peels, massages, manicures, pedicures, body treatments, and hair styling salons.
