Vanderpump Hotel Hits Vegas Strip with a Surprisingly Quiet Grand Opening

  • The Vanderpump Hotel celebrated its grand opening Thursday night, officially completing Caesars Entertainment’s total rebranding of The Cromwell resort
  • Celebrity attendance leaned heavily on “Bravo-celebrities” and close friends like Sharon Osbourne and Lance Bass, contrasting sharply with standard Las Vegas grand-opening starpower
  • The boutique property features 188 custom rooms co-designed by Vanderpump, as well as a new cocktail lounge, Gigolo, named after her late dog

The Vanderpump Hotel held its grand opening on the Las Vegas Strip Thursday night, June 11, marking the completion of Caesars Entertainment’s rebranding of The Cromwell. The newly renovated casino resort was significantly more impressive than the celebrity status of the event’s attendees, however.

The biggest names in the room, other than the paid guest of honor, were former Pop Idol judge Sharon Osbourne, former *NSYNC member Lance Bass, and former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member Garcelle Beauvais — plus other Bravo-celebrities who did not even include Andy Cohen.

This was the first major Strip resort grand opening since the Fontainebleau’s in December 2023. For comparison, that event drew A-listers including Cher, Kim Kardashian, Tom Brady, and Lenny Kravitz, among others.

Vanderpump made a trademark showy arrival, pulling up in a custom Rolls-Royce and walking the main casino floor flanked by bellmen. Inside, Clark County Commissioner Tick Segerblom, along with Caesars executives, presented her with a ceremonial “Key to the Las Vegas Strip.”

“The Vanderpump Hotel has been a true labor of love,” Vanderpump said. “Like all my passion projects, this one is deeply personal. I think of it as my very own jewel box on the 50-yard line of the Las Vegas Strip – intimate, inviting and filled with carefully curated details that each tell a story.”

According to Caesars’ materials, Vanderpump collaborated on the hotel’s design with Nick Alain through their firm Vanderpump Alain. The project includes custom furnishings, lighting, and decorative elements across all 188 guest rooms, a remodeled lobby bar, and new public‑area installations, including a statue of “Gigolo,” Vanderpump’s late Pomeranian, whose name also graces the hotel’s new cocktail lounge.

The Vanderpump Hotel is Vanderpump’s first hotel collaboration. Her existing Las Vegas venues include Vanderpump Cocktail Garden at Caesars Palace, Vanderpump à Paris at Paris Las Vegas, and Pinky’s by Vanderpump at Flamingo Las Vegas. Outside Las Vegas, she operates WOLF by Vanderpump at Harvey’s Lake Tahoe and at Caesars Republic Scottsdale.

Other businesses operating within the resort include GIADA, Drai’s After Hours, Starbucks, a Caesars Sportsbook location, the Soleia rooftop pool (formerly Drai’s Beach club), and The Bar at The Vanderpump Hotel. (Neither Victor Drai nor restaurateur Giada De Laurentiis attended the grand opening.)

The event concluded with a drone show above the Strip featuring 600 drones.

"Other than the paid guest of honor" .... a small detail but throwing some entertaining shade.
