The reality TV star and restaurateur is partnering with Caesars Entertainment, which owns the Cromwell, to turn it into a “bold, new brand and an original concept to the heart of the Las Vegas Strip,” according to a press release from Caesars.

The standalone boutique hotel — at Las Vegas Boulevard and Flamingo Road — will get a makeover of its reception and front desk areas, and all of its 188 rooms. An all-new lounge will also be debuted.

The collaboration will mark Vanderpump’s first foray into hotels after developing several Las Vegas restaurants in partnership with Caesars: the Vanderpump Cocktail Garden at Caesars Palace, Vanderpump à Paris at Paris Las Vegas, and Pinky’s by Vanderpump at Flamingo Las Vegas.

“What an extraordinary opportunity to develop this iconic location into something unique, playful and upscale,” Vanderpump said. “Through my design company, Vanderpump Alain, with my partner Nick Alain, we can’t wait to breathe new life into this property and make it something truly magical.”

Vanderpump Alain furnishings and lighting fixtures will be used throughout.

This will be the property’s third rebranding. The Cromwell opened in 2014 as an upscale redux of Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall and Saloon, a budget-friendly joint opened by Caesars (then called Harrah’s) in 2007 on the site of the Barbary Coast. That property was opened by casino developer Michael Gaughan in 1979 on the site of the demolished Empey’s Desert Villa, which  opened in 1952 and in 1974 became the Times Square Motel.

Will Drai’s Stay?

Though the release used the words “complete renovation,” there was no mention that any existing features — its 40,000 square-foot casino, Giada De Laurentiis’ namesake restaurant, the Bound lobby bar, Interlude casino lounge, or Drai’s nightclub — would be removed.

This Instagram video promoting the rebranding features Vanderpump announcing the hotel from the rooftop lounge at Drai’s. This nightclub has faced scrutiny for being the site of a fatal shooting in 2013, a large brawl following the Mayweather-McGregor boxing match in 2017, and a violent assault by New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara that left his victim severely injured in 2022.

A spokewoman told Casino.org only that “no other changes are planned at this time.”

The Cromwell will continue to operate during the transformation, which is set to be complete by early 2026.
