The Clark County Fire Department said the blaze was contained to the garage storage room in which it began.

Arriving just before 6:40 a.m., the department said crew members saw smoke emanating from the garage’s fourth floor.

“Extinguishment was completed after firefighters pulled hose lines off the engines to the 4th floor and overhauled the fire area of any remaining burning material,” the department said in a statement, adding that the fire had been kept from spreading by activated sprinklers.

A total of six engines, two trucks, heavy rescue, two battalion chief and two fire investigators responded.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Firefighters remained on site until at least 8:30 a.m.

The Cromwell is in undergoing conversion into the Lisa Vanderpump Hotel, which is set to open next year.
