Country music star Bailey Zimmerman is on damage control after causing an estimated $16,000 in damages to a tribal casino hotel room in May.

With an arrest warrant looming after Sandia Resort & Casino said its efforts to reach the singer went unanswered, Zimmerman publicly apologized for the incident that derailed his heavily promoted performance at the tribal property in New Mexico.
First things first, I want to apologize to the Pueblo of Sandia and to everyone at Sandia Resort & Casino. I respect your community and the hospitality, and appreciate the opportunity that was given to me to perform on Native Land,” Zimmerman said.
“I never meant for any of this to come across as disrespectful. I am deeply sorry for my actions that transpired. I take full accountability for everything that happened, and I am sorry to anyone who feels hurt or disrespected,” Zimmerman continued.
Bailey Bails
As Casino.org previously reported, Zimmerman showed up to his sound check at the 4,000-seat Sandia Amphitheater on Wednesday, May 27, drunk as a skunk. He stumbled around the stage, fell at one point, and overall acted belligerently, venue officials said.
Bailey reportedly spat at casino security when a white, not black, SUV showed up to take him back to his casino hotel room before the performance. At some point, Bailey’s team realized they needed to cancel the show because of the singer’s state of mind and inebriation.
The next morning, housekeeping found Bailey’s suite trashed, with holes in the walls, carpet stains, and damage to televisions and furniture. Bailey departed without paying a $400 alcohol tab.
Bernalillo County District Attorney Sam Bregman’s office says Zimmerman has since taken responsibility for his actions and reportedly agreed to pay the tribal casino for the damages. As a result, the felony and misdemeanor charges on the arrest warrant were dropped.
Fans Impacted
Zimmerman concedes his alcohol-fueled bender wronged the thousands of fans who paid money for tickets to his Sandia Resort & Casino show and made travel arrangements to Albuquerque. Along with the New Mexico tribal casino concert, Zimmerman canceled his May 30th show at the Graton Resort & Casino in California.
To my fans who bought tickets and showed up expecting a performance, I am so sorry, you deserved better from me. I understand that being a musician comes with big responsibilities, both on and off stage, and I know that I fell short that day. I am reflecting on the disappointment and concern that I caused,” Zimmerman said.
“I am committed to doing the work necessary to learn and grow. Thank you to my fans for holding me accountable and for understanding that I am human. I do not take your support for granted,” he concluded.
There’s no word on whether Sandia might give Zimmerman a second chance at performing. Tickets for the cancelled May 27 show were refunded.
