2026 MLS Cup Odds – Who Are the Key Contenders?

The race for the 2026 MLS Cup is tightening, with former favorites Inter Miami having won just once in their previous eight attempts.

Conversely, Eastern Conference leaders Nashville have lost just twice in their previous 19 matches since April 4th. Vancouver Whitecaps FC and Los Angeles are also in contention from the Western Conference, while Houston are potential dark horses who may be underpriced at 6.7¢.

Traders on Polymarket are embracing this uncertainty. The market has produced a total volume of more than $20.1 million so far, while it has a projected settlement date of December 18th (after the Championship game).

But which teams offer optimal value in the market? I’ll take a look at the current odds and pricing to determine the picks with the best potential upside.

Inter Miami Odds – Will Their Lack of Form Create Even Greater Value?

“Inter Miami” | “Yes” at 17¢ | 16% Chance

Inter Miami are the defending MLS Cup champions, following their maiden title win in 2025. Polymarket traders afforded them a 49% win probability when the market opened on Februrary 18th, but this has fallen by more than half at the time of writing.

Shortly after Miami defeated CF Montréal 1-0 on the road on July 25th, their win probability hit 30%. However, they’ve since triumphed in just one of their eight league matches, in a sequence that has also seen them concede 16 goals.

This highlights the side’s ongoing defensive struggles. They have shipped 46 goals in just 25 league matches at a rate of 1.84 per 90 minutes, while they’ve conceded at least twice in 11 of their previous 15 games. The high profile recruitment of former Manchester United and Real Madrid player Casemiro has yet to have a positive effect in this regard, as the Brazilian continually struggles to cover ground during fast transitions.

Overall, Inter Miami have seen their “Yes” share price fall to just 17¢. This is the lowest benchmark since May 10th. While this reflects their lack of form, however it also offers value, as the side is packed with star power. 

Players like Messi, Casemiro, Luis Suárez, and Rodrigo De Paul all have significant big game experience. So, there may be value in snapping up “Yes” shares now and holding your position into the playoffs. An upturn in form could also see the price move back above 30¢ before the end of the regular season.

Nashville SC Odds – The Form Team With a Huge Potential Upside

“Nashville SC” | “Yes” at 21¢ | 20% Chance

One of the challenges with appraising Miami’s value is that casual traders are swayed by the brilliance of Messi. However, smart and analytical operators have been trading “Yes” on Nashville, who now have a volume that’s nearly three times higher than their rivals.

At the time of writing, Nashville are the best performing team in the MLS. They’ve dominated the regular season so far, winning 16 of their 25 league games (64%) and accumulating 54 points at a rate of 2.16 per match.

B.J. Callaghan’s side is underpinned by teamwork and consistency, rather than individual excellence. This is evident in attack, where a front three of Hany Mukhtar, Sam Surridge, and Cristian Espinoza have combined to produce 28 goals and 17 assists in just 25 MLS games this season. 

The franchise recorded the best 21-game start in MLS history this season, amassing 49 points during this period. After an exciting 2-2 on the road at Inter Miami on September 12th, they remain nine points ahead of their rivals in the Eastern Conference, too.

Despite this, historical bias and a lack of casual money means that Nashville “Yes” shares remain underpriced at just 21¢. So, I’d recommend buying now and looking for an exit point above 35¢. This could be easily achieved if Nashville win the Supporters’ Shield and claim the number 1 seed in the playoffs.

Houston Dynamo FC Odds – A Rising Contender in the Western Conference

“Houston Dynamo FC” | “Yes” at 6.7¢ | 6% Chance

Houston currently sits second in the Western Conference, a mere three points behind Vancouver. The team is also fourth in the form table over the previous 10 matches, winning six times during this sequence and amassing 20 points.

Ben Olsen’s men have closed the gap on the Whitecaps in recent weeks. Crucially, they defeated Vancouver 1-0 on the road on August 19th, while also keeping a fifth consecutive clean sheet at BC Place. 

Overall, Dynamo didn’t concede a goal for 485 minutes during this sequence, with their success built on an organized and highly structured back five when out of possession. Brazilian forward Guilherme has also starred in attack, contributing 19 goal involvements in 24 appearances.

Houston now has a 99.9% probability of reaching the postseason in 2026, too. If they can also overhaul the Whitecaps and become top seeds in the Western Conference, they’ll claim home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. This could prove key in the Texas heat, especially for road teams from the coast.  

Form and momentum is with Houston, so their current “Yes” price of 6.7¢ (up from 5.9¢ on September 1st) remains incredibly low. Consider buying now and holding your position into the first round of the playoffs, at which point the price could reach 20¢. Selling at this point would deliver an approximate profit of between 198.51% and 238.98%, depending at which price you bought in at.

Are There Any Other High Value Contenders?

Despite their relatively mixed recent form and tight upcoming schedule, Vancouver may also offer value at a price of 20¢. 

Although this is slightly higher than their win probability of 19% and potentially indicative of a low EV pick, the Whitecaps may still claim top seed in the Western Conference and secure home-field advantage for themselves.

Los Angeles FC sit third in the Western Conference, just six points off top spot. The franchise also boasts incredible star power, including former Spurs pair Son Heung-min and Hugo Lloris. Gabon forward Denis Bouanga has excelled this season, too, contributing 13 goals and six assists in 25 league games.

LAFC carry far greater playoff experience than Houston or Vancouver, while they retain a 99% probability of reaching the postseason. With a place among the top two Conference seeds also up for grabs, the outfit offers huge value at a flat price of 9¢.

The Last Word – Trading the MLS Cup Winner on Polymarket

The race for the MLS Cup is wide open, notwithstanding the star individual quality possessed by franchises like Inter Miami and Los Angeles FC.

Nashville SC and Houston have emerged as genuine contenders through 2026. The success of these teams is based largely on organization, work-rate, and teamwork, while both outfits remain significantly underpriced at the time of writing.

Given how tough this market is to call, I’d recommend that you don’t buy shares and hold them until settlement at this stage. Instead, look to trade potential price fluctuations into the playoffs, as Houston and Nashville could see their values soar should they secure the top seed in their respective Conferences.
