YouTube Sensation MrBeast Returning to Las Vegas for More Games

  • A soundstage is under construction near the South Point casino resort in Las Vegas for MrBeast
  • It will host the YouTube sensation’s second season of “Beast Games” on Amazon Prime
  • Taping is expected to begin in June

The aircraft hangar-like structure under construction south of the Las Vegas Strip, near the South Point Casino, will serve as a temporary soundstage for the second season of Amazon Prime’s “Beast Games,” the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported Tuesday.

That’s the reality TV game show masterminded and hosted by MrBeast, the controversial YouTube superstar whose last two Las Vegas dalliances didn’t seem to have gone well enough to warrant a return.

MrBeast — known at the DMV as Jimmy Donaldson — has amassed the world’s largest YouTube following: 385 million subscribers. The Clark County permit for the sound stage’s construction covers its use between May 1 and June 30, according to the R-J, with a mid-June taping expected.

If at First You Don’t Succeed…

The first season of “Beast Games,” filmed at Allegiant Stadium in July 2024, featured 2,000 contestants vying for $5 million in a series of challenges that included pulling monster trucks, throwing coconuts, and dead-hanging from a bar for as long as possible.

Billed as “the biggest competition in game show history,” it instead became one of its biggest fiascos, sparking a class-action lawsuit alleging mistreatment. Filed by five female contestants last September, the suit alleged sexual harassment, limited sustenance, insufficient medical staffing, and unpaid expenses and wages. (The case is still pending.)

A second MrBeast event in Las Vegas ended in a similar reputational black eye in April. That’s when an angry mob of refund-seekers besieged the concierge desk at Resorts World.

Each had paid $1K for “The MrBeast Experience,” a three-day package that promised an “unforgettable” experience featuring “a series of on-site activations at select restaurants on the property, treating guests to an immersive experience.”

The experience delivered one box of chocolates and one bag of low-quality MrBeast merch delivered to each of their hotel rooms. What it did not deliver was a visit, of any kind, from MrBeast, who was not in Las Vegas at the time.

All victims were eventually refunded in full, but only after several national news outlets ran stories about the apparent scam. Donaldson also promised a free tour of his TV studio in North Carolina to everyone who wasn’t satisfied (which was everyone).
