VEGAS MUSIC NEWS: Santana Postpones Residency, Fontainebleau Cancels Arrested DJ

Guitarist Carlos Santana has postponed the 2025 kickoff of his ongoing Las Vegas residency due to an accidental fall at his home in Hawaii. Santana was set to start off the new year Jan. 22-Feb. 2 at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay, where he began his residency back in 2012. Those dates have now been rescheduled to May 14-25.

The Woodstock legend, 77, fell while taking a walk at his vacation home on Kauai. He broke the pinky on his left (fretboard) hand, badly enough to require the insertion of pins, and he’s under doctor’s orders not to play guitar for six weeks.

“He just needs to heal,” his manager, Michael Vrionis, said in a press statement on Friday.
.Santana profoundly regrets these postponements of his upcoming performances, but accidents happen, and his health is our number one concern.

“He is looking forward to seeing all of his fans very soon.”

Tickets will be honored at the rescheduled dates, and Ticketmaster will issue full refunds, through Feb. 2, for those who can’t make the new dates.

DJ Suffers Another Kind of Fall

Someone else who won’t make their scheduled Las Vegas appearances is James Kennedy. The DJ, known for his appearances on the reality show “Vanderpump Rules,” was supposed to headline LIV Nightclub at Fontainebleau on Jan. 4, 18 and 31.

That changed shortly after his arrest on Dec. 10 for misdemeanor domestic violence, however.

The DJ, 32, reportedly grabbed his girlfriend, Ally Lewber, during an argument at Kathy Hilton’s annual holiday party in LA. Kennedy was released on bail, then dropped from the entertainment calendar listed on LIV’s website.

So far, no charges are known to have been filed.

Not Over Underwood?

Carrie Underwood’s “Reflection” residency, which will wrap on April 12 after three years at Resorts World, was filmed for a concert special that Hulu will stream starting Jan. 24. Tickets for her final dates are still available.

The country star will also join “American Idol” — which she won, launching her career in 2005 — as a judge beginning on March 9.
