Goodbye, Hello!
OK! Magazine is reporting that Adele turned down $100 million to extend her residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. OK! is a British tabloid that relies on “anonymous sources” to make proclamations that are fairly self-evident.
“It’s clear that Adele is choosing to prioritize family over fortune for now,” an unnamed source close to the 36-year-old superstar told OK!
See?
“She has more money than she could ever spend, but now she wants a life,” the possibly imaginary informant continued.
The British singer is engaged to American sports agent Rich Paul, which she announced during her August 8 show, and shares his son Angelo with her former partner Simon Konecki.
According to OK!’s anonymous source, their wedding will be “a decent-size affair, most likely in California, followed by a second celebration in England.”
Yeah, the reporter definitely just interviewed the reporter in the next cubicle over.
Vegas Radio to Green Day: ‘Good Riddance!’
The backlash caused by Billie Joe Armstrong‘s strong words for Las Vegas on September 21 has resulted in a Sin City radio ban on the Bay Area band’s music.
Vegas’ KOMP-FM 92.3 declared “No more Green Day” on its Instagram page, explaining that it has “pulled any and all” of the pop-punker’s songs from its rotating playlist.
“It’s not us, Billie…it’s you,” the post added.
Similarly, KTTE.5-FM 107.5 posted on its website that it is “banning all Green Day music, effective immediately.”
In case you didn’t hear what Armstrong said to a sold-out baseball stadium crowd of 42K, here it is again …
“We don’t take shit from people like fucking John Fisher!” Armstrong huffed to roars of approval from Oracle Park, home of the San Francisco Giants. “I hate Las Vegas! It’s the worst shithole in America!”
In defense of Green Day, the insult was clearly baseball-related. Armstrong grew up worshipping the Oakland A’s and, like millions of the team’s fans, is enraged that Fisher has decided to thumb his nose at the ballclub’s 56-year history in the East Bay just to build a cheaper new stadium on the Las Vegas Strip.
For their part in this, the Vegas radio stations should be forgiven their harsh responses as well. They’re just happy to receive publicity for the first time since everyone started listening exclusively to Spotify and podcasts in 2015.
