VEGAS DINING NEWS: Vegas Taco Bell Wants to Marry You, Health Dept. Closes Boyd Casino Eatery

If the idea of a Las Vegas wedding isn’t cheesy enough for your taste, Taco Bell has solved your problem and then some. Its location at 3717 S. Las Vegas Blvd. (in the Harmon Corner Plaza next to Planet Hollywood) is offering holy matrimony with your guacamole.

It’s wedding (taco) bells! Check out the groom’s takeout box, and the bride’s hot-sauce bouquet, in this staged marketing photo. (Image: tacobellweddings.com)

For a lucky $777, the package includes an Elvis impersonator, Vegas showgirls, and, of course, tacos. In addition, the bride’s bouquet will consist of mild and hot sauce packets.

Couples and their 25 guests will have a chapel and private reception area to themselves for about 30 minutes, according to Taco Bell’s website.

The new package is, of course, a Valentine’s Day promotion. However, it will also be available year-round.

There is a dress code, however. “No shirt, no shoes, no marriage,” reads the FAQ page at tacobellwedding.com.

Health to Pay

The Johnny Rockets food court kiosk at Boyd Gaming’s Aliante Casino was closed by the Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) following a routine inspection on Thursday. Las Vegas’ version of a health department identified improperly cleaned and sanitized food contact surfaces (3 demerits), a lack of adequately stocked and accessible handwashing sinks (3), and no “hot and cold running water from approved source as required.”

Except for another SNHD closure on Oct. 30, 2013, this Johnny Rockets has passed all inspections since opening in 2008.

Dude, Where’s My Kardashian?

Kendall Jenner made a surprise appearance on January 31 at the grand opening of Amaya Modern Mexican. That’s the Cosmopolitan space opened by Michelin-starred chef Jason McLeod in the space formerly occupied by Holsteins Shakes and Buns.

Of course, like a good Kardashian, Kendall was only there to self-promote. She tended bar to serve cocktails prepared with the tequila brand she owns, which we’re not going to name because we don’t have to.
