BetVictor Canada has launched a safer gambling campaign through the streets of Toronto, featuring the company’s brand ambassador, former NBA star and Toronto Raptor Tracy McGrady.

McGrady: Safer Gambling Ambassador

Mobile digital trucks in high-traffic areas outside Scotiabank Arena, Rogers Centre, scheduled for Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Blue Jays and Raptors home games, will promote McGrady’s safer gambling role with BetVictor.

BVGroup announced in October that the seven-time NBA All-Star had joined their team as its new Safer Gambling Ambassador in Canada for its flagship BetVictor brand.

The company’s out-of-home advertising campaign also includes a partnership with Clear Media Group, leveraging digital taxi tops in vehicles across Toronto – providing city-wide exposure with brand messaging.

Problem Gambling Awareness Month

The digital taxi tops will run during peak evening hours (5 p.m. to 9 p.m.) on select dates until April 5.

March is Problem Gambling Awareness Month, a national grassroots campaign, an opportunity for BetVictor to highlight their tools and services to help Canadians bet safely.

“In using our Safer Gambling Ambassador, Tracy McGrady, to raise awareness about BetVictor’s safer gambling tools such as loss limits, time alerts and product restrictions we are dedicated to ensuring all players have a safe gambling experience,” said Mark Harper, head of emerging markets at BVGroup.

New Alberta iGaming Legislation

Harper, of course, is also focusing on the news out of Alberta. The Alberta government yesterday reported the tabling of igaming legislation, Bill 48, called the iGaming Alberta Act, which if passed will bring an Ontario-style open, competitive igaming market to the province. The bill now goes through a legislative process before becoming law.

BVGroup will be committed to an operator licence application in Alberta, once Bill 48 concludes and legislation is in place,” Harper told Casino.org. “BetVictor will follow the same safer gambling and player protection measures that we have deployed in Ontario, for the Alberta market.”
