The Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA) has selected Bede Gaming to develop and launch its new BetSIGA iGaming platform, scheduled to go live in spring 2027.

“BetSIGA is an important next step in SIGA’s long-term digital gaming strategy,” said SIGA President and CEO Zane Hansen. “This will be our own platform, built with a partner that shares our commitment to safe, responsible and engaging play, and it will continue to share success with revenue distributed to support First Nation communities and Saskatchewan.”
Bede Expands Canadian Gaming Presence
Bede, part of Germany’s MERKUR GROUP, provides online gaming technology to major operators, including Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) and PointsBet Canada.
Headquartered in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, the company develops platforms that support online casino, sports betting, lottery, and bingo operations.
SIGA has operated Saskatchewan’s only legally recognized online gaming platform, PlayNow, using technology provided by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC), since 2022. Bede Gaming was selected to develop the new platform following a competitive procurement process.
SIGA Moves Beyond PlayNow Platform
In a statement, SIGA said safe play will be central to the new platform, built on open, modular technology and incorporating identity verification, geolocation, anti-money laundering, security, player protection, and responsible gaming controls.
“This partnership extends far beyond technology implementation. It represents a significant opportunity to combine trusted technology, deep sector expertise and true operational collaboration. SIGA has a clear and ambitious vision for the future of gaming in Saskatchewan, and we are proud to support the team in building a connected digital ecosystem that will deliver exceptional player experiences and sustainable long-term value,” said Colin Cole-Johnson, chief executive officer at Bede Gaming.
SIGA, created by the province’s First Nations and launched in 1996, operates seven casinos in the province, offering slot machines, live table games, electronic table games, live entertainment, and an array of lounges and restaurants, as well as the online gaming platform.
