The wife of Aaron Goodwin, star of “Ghost Adventures,” has been arrested for trying to make him a ghost. Police in Las Vegas, where Victoria Goodwin allegedly hatched the plot, say she tried to hire a hitman to kill him.

Victoria, 32, was booked on March 6 on charges of solicitation and conspiracy to commit murder, and remains at the Clark County Detention Center with bail set at $100K.

Police say they were tipped to the plot by a Florida corrections officer who obtained the cell phone of a Florida prisoner in October last year. According to the arrest report, Grant Amato — who is serving life after being found guilty of murdering his parents and brother in 2019 — had been texting and Facebook-messaging Victoria, who asked him for help getting out of her marriage.

In one of the messages, the pair allegedly discussed setting aside $11,515 to pay an unnamed hitman “when the job is finished,” with an upfront payment of $2,500. They also allegedly discussed Aaron Goodwin’s location at the time and the make of his car.

“Am I a bad person,” police quote Victoria asking Amato, “because I chose to end his existence, not divorce?”

Though Victoria identified herself as “Victoria Candie” in the conversations, police say, the messages were sent from her Las Vegas cell phone.

Giving Up the Ghost

When police confronted Victoria about the messages, they claim she admitted to reaching out to Amato after learning about him from a true crime documentary. At the time, she told them, she and her husband of two years were having relationship problems. She also admitted sending Amato money, which police believe he used to buy his cell phone.

When confronted with the particular messages plotting her husband’s death, however, Goodwin denied remembering them. She said her feelings toward Amato were more like “fantasy or daydreams.”

Aaron Goodwin was apparently unaware of the situation, believing his marriage to be solid. His Ghost Adventures co-star Zak Bagans told TMZ that the situation was “emotional” for his co-star and that he’s “trying to give him love and support” during this challenging time.

Victoria’s next court date, a preliminary hearing, is scheduled for March 25.
