Cathédrale at Aria will plate its last meal on May 31. Opened almost exactly two years ago, the upscale eatery was a venture by Tao Group Hospitality. Seating 266, it was designed to replicate the success of its New York City flagship with a dramatic ambiance and upscale coastal cuisine from France, Spain, Italy, and Greece.

The reason for its closure was not announced by Aria or the restaurant. It never is, nor does it ever really need to be. That’s because no restaurant or show ever closes in Las Vegas without suffering from either poor business or a sex scandal. And there was no sex scandal at Cathédrale.
No immediate plans for the space have been announced, and Cathédrale’s East Village location is unaffected.
