Key Points
Novig has officially launched its federally regulated sports prediction market across the United States
The platform offers peer-to-peer sports trading with no traditional vig, deeper liquidity, and live in-game markets
Novig differentiates itself from other prediction markets via a sports-only focus, 21+ age requirement

Novig has officially jumped into prediction markets, launching its sports-focused product nationwide on Tuesday (Aug. 4, 2026).

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) granted Novig Designated Contract Market (DCM) status on June 16, 2026, meaning it’s now operating under federal oversight.
Nationwide Launch Begins
“For too long, sports fans have had limited ways to engage with the markets they know best,” said Jacob Fortinsky, co-founder and CEO of Novig, in a statement. “They are among the most passionate and informed communities in the world, yet they’ve never had a platform truly built around how they think, engage and trade.
“We built Novig to change that, not only by creating the best place to trade sports, but by setting the standard for what a modern sports prediction market should be.”
According to the company, its model brings instant live trading as games unfold, deeper liquidity across markets, and expanded payment options.
Sports-Only Trading Focus
Unlike other peer-to-peer exchange markets, users won’t find markets on economic data, elections, entertainment, and other non-sports events.
Like with other prediction market platforms in operation, CFTC approval allows Novig to bypass state-by-state sportsbook licensing and launch a platform that it says offers better odds, no traditional vig, and no limits on successful bettors.
Another market differentiator for Novig is its 21+ age requirement – the only prediction market to maintain it.
Competition Heats Up
ProphetX, a competitor of Novig in the sports-focused prediction market space, secured CFTC regulatory approval on June 11 and is now live. Traditional sportsbook operators have entered the prediction market space as well, including DraftKings, FanDuel and Fanatics.
As reported, Novig raised $105 million across two funding rounds going back to 2025.
Ahead of its national rollout Tuesday (Aug. 4, 2026), Novig announced a partnership with the New York Mets on July 30, 2026, making the company the Exclusive Official Prediction Market Partner of the Major League Baseball (MLB) team.
On Novig’s platform this morning (Aug. 6, 2026), for tonight’s Pro Football Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio, the Carolina Panthers are 52.5%, the Arizona Cardinals 48.0%, meaning the market currently believes the Panthers have about a 52.5% chance of winning. Market volume at 9 a.m. EST was $71,837.52.
