NFL MVP Odds – Who Are the Frontrunners?

The NFL MVP odds have experienced significant volatility in week eight, with Josh Allen’s “Yes” price down by 18.92% since November 3rd. This is despite Allen throwing 289 yards and two touchdowns in the Bills’ recent 36-10 victory over the injury-hit Ravens.
This is thanks in part to the continued brilliance of fellow quarterback Joe Burrow. The 29-year-old Bengals’ star threw an incredible 462 yards and five touchdowns against Tennessee last weekend, before rushing for the winning score in overtime. In doing so, he became the first NFL QB since Norm Van Brocklin in 1951 to throw for at least 450 yards and five touchdowns while also rushing for a TD.
Burrow has now overtaken Brock Purdy as the second favorite in this market, after the 49ers enjoyed a bye during week eight.
Unsurprisingly, such performances and unpredictability are generating significant interest in the NFL MVP winner market on Polymarket. More than $1.42 million has been traded on event contracts so far, with players such as Caleb Williams and Trevor Lawrence also in contention.

Josh Allen Odds – His Price is Volatile, But Does He Offer Value?
“Josh Allen” | “Yes” at 30¢ | 29% Chance
While Allen has never won or even appeared in a Super Bowl, he was crowned the regular season MVP in 2024. He has started the current campaign in superb form, too, throwing 1,793 yards and 11 touchdowns in his seven starts.
The offseason appointment of offensive coordinator Joe Brady as head coach is having a hugely positive impact on Allen’s game. The brains behind LSU’s record-breaking college football season in 2019, Brady has replaced the outgoing Sean McDermott and now has full tactical control over the side.
Brady is best-known as a passing coordinator who prioritizes dynamism and unpredictability, creating more options when Allen is in possession. His switch from a 4-3 to a 3-4 base also highlights a more offensive approach that will maximize the quarterback’s unique skillset.
Of course, Brady’s structural switch has negatively impacted the Bills defense. The franchise has allowed an average of 352.14 defensive yards per game so far in 2026, while shipping 22 touchdowns. However, they’re currently averaging 33.3 points-per-game from an offense perspective and have gone 6-1 (.857), and Allen will continue to benefit from his coach’s aggressive tactics.
The depreciation of Allen’s “Yes” shares have been observed across similar US prediction markets. However, the current benchmark of 30¢ subsequently has considerably greater upside than it did a week ago, especially when you consider the quarterback’s superb form and his QBR score of 76.7 on ESPN. He currently ranks fifth for this metric.
So, there’s definitely some value in buying “Yes” shares now and looking to hold deep into the regular season or until settlement. Just note that this introduces potential liquidity traps, so be sure to identify a viable exit point.
Brock Purdy Odds – A Value Pick With Huge Potential Upside
“Brock Purdy” | “Yes” at 16¢ | 16% Chance
Brock Purdy has taken center stage for the 49ers this season, averaging an impressive 249.7 yards per game. Purdy even produced some impressive individual numbers despite San Francisco’s defeat at the Falcons in week seven, although his passing was slightly less accurate than normal.
Overall, he ranks joint-fifth for the number of touchdowns thrown so far in 2026 (15). Purdy has also completed 146 of his 211 total attempted passes overall, now ranking eighth overall for accuracy with a completion rate of 69.2%.
His Total Quarterback Rating (QBR) of 79.3 on ESPN also highlights the incredible influence he has on his team, while he now ranks first for this metric ahead of Burrow.
Purdy’s impressive statistical efficiency betrays his consistency, too. So, it’s something of a surprise to see his “Yes” price contract by 14.44% from 18.7¢ to 16¢ since October 29th, with his win probability also declining by two percentage points. Of course, he didn’t play in week eight, while his two main market rivals delivered eye-catching and match-winning performances.
Regardless, the revised price offers a huge potential upside. It has the capacity to peak between 30¢ and 40¢ as the season progresses, especially if Purdy continues to defy his outdated reputation as a system quarterback. So, continue to hold your position if you’ve bought “Yes” shares previously, or consider buying in now.
Joe Burrow Odds – An Emerging Contender, But Does he Offer an Upside?
“Joe Burrow” | “Yes” at 17.1¢ | 17% Chance
Burrow’s record-breaking performance against the Titans was made all the more remarkable by the fact that he also threw three interceptions. Overall, he has now thrown 2,115 yards and 20 touchdowns during the regular season, while he ranks fourth and first respectively for these metrics.
He also averages an impressive 302.1 yards per game. His pass completion rate of 73.0 is the highest among any QB to play two or more games so far in 2026, too, while Burrow’s aforementioned QBR score of 77.3 on ESPN is bettered only by Purdy.
He’s certainly in outstanding form and has contended for the award before, having starred in 2024 for a stuttering Bengals side that ultimately failed to reach the playoffs. The current sportsbook consensus affords Burrow a 20% win probability in this market, too, so he arguably represents a value pick on Polymarket.
The really good news for Burrow is that the Bengals have also impressed as a collective this season. The franchise has gone 5-2 (.714) overall and is currently averaging 29.4 PPG (second only to the Bills). The team also has a relatively favorable run from week nine onwards, with their strength of schedule (4.93) ranking 20th in terms of difficulty.
The stars may be aligning for Burrow, while his current “Yes” price of 17.1¢ offers a high potential upside. The value of these shares is already up by 242% since October 25th. So, there’s value in buying “Yes” contracts now and holding through the early winter at least.
The Last Word – Trading the NFL MVP Winner Market
This market is focused on the regular season MVP winner, and it will settle on or around 14th February, 2027. Note that this is completely separate to the Super Bowl MVP award, which is awarded to the best and most influential player in the NFL’s showpiece game.
In terms of market options, you should also note that QBs have dominated the NFL MVP regular season award. In fact, it has been won by quarterbacks on 49 occasions since 1957, with 34 separate players claiming the honor. Quarterbacks have also won in 13 consecutive seasons since 2013.
Interestingly, each NFL MVP since 2013 has also played for a team that secured either the number 1 or number 2 seed in their conference. So, the correlation between collective and individual performances is strong.
Joe Burrow has recently emerged as the second favorite behind the Bill’s Josh Allen. This is thanks to a string of superb individual performance and the collective form of the Bengals. However, there’s also huge value in backing Brock Purdy at what may be a slightly discounted price, while Caleb Williams of the in-form Chicago Bears has seen his price surge in the previous two weeks.
Regardless of your pick, be sure to identify a potential exit price for each of your trades. This will help you to strike the balance between maximizing profits and avoiding low liquidity traps.
