Las Vegas Sands has cut a check for $100,000 to “100 Black Men,” the men’s civic organization that’s dedicated to educating and empowering Black children and teens in communities in the United States and around the world.

Sands, the Las Vegas-based gaming firm that operates in China’s Macau and Singapore, says its 2025 gift to 100 Black Men continues the gaming company’s ongoing support of the nonprofit’s local Las Vegas chapter. Sands’ $1K check comes from its Sands Cares global community engagement fund.
As a leading community service organization in the Black community and Southern Nevada, 100 Black Men Las Vegas continues to have tremendous results in preparing and advancing young people to achieve their goals, while providing a critical foundation of social service support,” said Ron Reese, Sands’ senior vice president of global communications and corporate affairs. “We appreciate that our annual donations are maximized to their greatest impact through the organization’s ability to deeply understand the needs of youths and their families and then respond with meaningful programming.”
Founded in 1963, 100 Black Men’s mission is to “improve the quality of life within our communities and enhance educational and economic opportunities for all African Americans.”
Sands is a leading global developer of integrated resort casinos. Its current properties include Marina Bay Sands in Singapore and six properties in Macau — The Venetian, Londoner, Parisian, Plaza, Four Seasons, and Sands.
Money Allocation
Sands’ 2025 contribution to 100 Black Men will help the organization’s Las Vegas chapter in a variety of ways. The $100K will help fund a science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) initiative, a program tailored to future law enforcement and first responders, and a tutorial that prepares participants to become licensed real estate agents and mortgage brokers.
Sands is also assisting 100 Black Men Las Vegas in searching for a permanent location. The chapter previously operated out of a leased space at the Silverado Ranch Place shopping plaza along S. Maryland Parkway, but currently lists a PO box as its office.
“Sands has always understood our overall goal across all of our offerings, which work together to empower our youth and community members to be healthy, self-sufficient, and successful,” said Gentry Richardson, executive director of 100 Black Men Las Vegas. “We’ve greatly expanded our reach over the past four years with Sands’ support, and the 2025 contribution is helping us grow current programs and introduce new initiatives to increase our positive impact even further.”
Las Vegas Partner
Though Las Vegas Sands has the Nevada casino city in its name, it’s been several years since Sands sold The Venetian Resort and Palazzo on the Strip. Sands unloaded its marquee properties in 2021 for $6.25 billion.
Despite not having a physical operational presence in Southern Nevada — though its corporate offices remain in Las Vegas — Sands continues to make philanthropic gifts to an array of charitable and nonprofit causes in town.
Last December, Sands gave $15 million to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) to establish the Sands Institute for Chinese Language and Culture. Also, last year, Sands gave $100K to Dress for Success Southern Nevada and $300K to the Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth.
