In a message to fans on Instagram, Lewis wrote: “I’m heartbroken to share that I will not be able to perform tomorrow night’s show. I’ve been battling a sore throat for the past few days and tried pushing through tonight’s performance, but it has only left me feeling worse.”

Lewis, 40, rose to global fame after winning “The X Factor UK” in 2006. She went on to release five studio albums, score multiple international hits, and sell more than 35 million records worldwide, cementing her status as one of Britain’s most successful modern vocalists.

Her 34‑date holiday residency — her first major Las Vegas engagement — launched November 1 and is scheduled to run through January 3.

“This was not an easy decision and I’m truly so gutted to disappoint any of you who had plans to attend,” she added. “Thank you for your patience, kindness and understanding… I’ll see you back under the stars very soon.”

Guests can request refunds or exchange their tickets for another available date by contacting info@voltairelv.com.

Lewis’ December 21 show was still on the schedule as of 5:40 a.m. PT that morning. Her next performance after that is Christmas Eve.

Concert cancellations hit much harder in Las Vegas. Unlike audiences in typical places, most on the Strip plan entire vacations around a single show —  flights, hotels, dining reservations, the whole itinerary.

For artists with international followings like Lewis, the impact is worse. They’ve already sunk tens of thousands of dollars into nonrefundable airfare and multi‑night stays, making ticket refund and exchange offers feel woefully inadequate.

Lewis’ fans, at least those who commented beneath her Instagram message, expressed a bitter cocktail of support and disappointment.

“I’m devastated As this was my birthday so but your health and wellbeing comes above anything else and I’m wishing you a quick and happy recovery!!” wrote Instagram user @michael_ao. “You’ve been a shining light in my life for so many years now and you will always continue to be one. Merry Christmas and get well soon Leona, hopefully one day soon you’ll be able to bring your fabulous show to the uk and I’ll be able to see you there xx✨”

“I can’t believe this is happening to me but get well Queen ❤️ I love you ,” added @javier10miniet.

“Your health comes first before anything else. Rest up and take care of yourself ❤️❤️❤️,” noted @ionacapri.
