YouTuber Vegas Matt Says Venetian Escorted Him Off Property After $400K Slot Win

Slots vlogger Vegas Matt (real name: Stephen Matt Morrow) confirmed Tuesday (Aug. 25) that he was escorted out of The Venetian Las Vegas following a $400,000 winning session on a Phoenix Link machine.

While the YouTube star—who boasts over 1.6 million subscribers—says security gave no official explanation, he is pushing back against online rumors accusing him of advantage play.

Morrow posted on X that Venetian security walked him out after he and a group of friends pulled roughly $400,000 from a Phoenix Link machine in a single session.

The jackpot video has been online since November 2025, meaning that Morrow kept the trespass a secret for nine months before Vital Vegas revealed it in an Aug. 25 X post.

No Morrow Venetian

Vital Vegas reported that The Venetian did not give Morrow an official reason, but noted that the rumor was advantage play — a legal strategy in which players exploit leftover value or favorable game states to flip the house edge.

Advantage play isn’t cheating. Cheating means altering outcomes — rigging a machine, marking cards, or manipulating chips. Advantage play means finding a situation where the game, played exactly as designed, already favors the player.

On table games, the classic example is card-counting. On slots, it usually comes down to leftover value: progressive meters, “must‑hit‑by” jackpots, partially filled bonus features, or symbol pots that carry over after a player leaves.

Nevada regulators do not consider advantage play illegal. Casinos, however, do not like it. And state law lets them refuse service to almost anyone and back it with a permanent trespass, no explanation required.

It’s not clear whether Vegas Matt is permanently banned from entering the Venetian, but it sounds like he wasn’t planning to give the casino resort his business anytime soon anyway.

Taking Advantage?

Morrow denies that his jackpot was the result of advantage play. He says his group left the slot’s counter higher than they found it, “which is hardly advantage play,” he commented below Vital Vegas’ tweet.

Advantage players who hunt “must‑hit” jackpots or partially filled bonus banks typically play the meter down until it resets, then walk away. Leaving a machine with more value than you started with means the next player inherits a better position.

“Maybe they just didn’t like me winning,” Matt concluded.

The ban sparked a wave of supportive comments on social media. Some users said they canceled planned stays at The Venetian. Others argued the property had handed a popular creator a viral grievance for no clear reason.

Morrow, a FanDuel Casino ambassador, didn’t stay sidelined for long. He posted a new video Tuesday (Aug. 25) showing a $260,000 win at Fontainebleau Las Vegas, including a $200,000 Grand jackpot — again on a Phoenix Link machine.

He said he prefers giving his business to properties that “are happy when I win.”

The Venetian has not issued a public comment on the situation.
