VEGAS MUSIC NEWS: Tom Jones & Katy Perry Return (Not Together), Bruno Re-Parks

It is unusual for a headliner to return, 60 years after their Las Vegas debut and still generate enough buzz to land at Wynn Las Vegas instead of off-Strip on an oldies package tour.

But that’s Tom Jones, who returns to the Encore Theater, where he performed a couple of dates last September, on May 14, 16, and 17, as part of a (very) mini residency he’s calling “Defy Expectation.”

Tickets are available starting at 9 a.m. PT Friday, January 31 via Ticketmaster.

“You all know how much I love to do what to do, and to share that space with you, there is nothing better,” he said in an X post last October.

So bring tossing panties.

Mars Attacks Again

Bruno Mars is returning to Dolby Live at Park MGM, adding seven dates to his eight-year strong residency. That’s a total of 99 solo shows (not counting the 34 shows he performed with Anderson .Paak in their R&B duo Silk Sonic).

The newly announced concerts will take place on May 21, 24, 25, 28, 30, 31, and June 2.

Fans can expect more of the same career-spanning set, presumably buttressed with his two new blockbuster collaborations, “APT.” with Rosé and “Die With a Smile” with Lady Gaga.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, January 31 via Ticketmaster. A Live Nation ticket presale is set for 10 a.m. PT, Thursday, January 30. (Use code “OCTAVE.”)

More Fireworks

It’s not another residency, but pop superstar Katy Perry won’t forget Las Vegas when her upcoming world tour — supporting her new album, “143” — plays the West Coast this spring. “The Lifetimes Tour” will include a stop at T-Mobile Arena on May 17.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. PT Friday, January 31, via AXS.com. An artist presale begins at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 29.
