VEGAS MUSIC NEWS: Tim McGraw Returns, Brandon Flowers Thrashes, ‘MJ Live’ Moves

Tim McGraw is slated to return to the Colosseum at Caesars Palace for five shows (Oct. 23 and 24 and November 4, 6, and 7). The 59‑year‑old country star previously filled in for four December 2025 dates left open after Dolly Parton canceled her scheduled performances due to health issues.

McGraw has sold more than 103 million records, with 49 No. 1 singles and 19 No. 1 albums on the Billboard country charts. His trails only George Strait among country artists in overall album sales. (Image: Live Nation)

McGraw’s new run — built around his three-decade catalog — doesn’t overlap with Parton’s second canceled block of shows, originally set for Sept. 17–26, but it again provides the Colosseum with a high‑demand headliner it’s already indebted to.

Tickets go on sale 10 a.m. PT Friday, June 26 via Ticketmaster.

Killer Solo Show

Brandon Flowers will swing a new solo tour to the Wynn’s Encore Theater for a single performance in his hometown on Tuesday, Oct. 6. Flowers, who normally sings for rock band the Killers, will support his third solo album and first in a decade.

Thrasher is playfully misnamed because it’s really a country-western album recorded in Nashville. It’s scheduled to drop Aug. 21, preceded by a single, “Plans,” arriving Friday.

Tickets go on sale 10 a.m. local time Friday, June 26 via Ticketmaster.

Blues Cure

Off‑Strip, Blues Traveler will headline the Bel‑Aire Backyard Pool Concert Series at Durango Casino & Resort on Oct. 11. The 8 p.m. show is part of the 1,600‑capacity outdoor lineup presented by Clique Hospitality and AEG Presents Las Vegas. Tickets start at $69.17 via www.belairebackyardlv.com.

MJ Still Live

The long‑running Michael Jackson tribute show MJ Live will relocate from Harrah’s to the Saxe Theater at Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood. The production is scheduled to reopen Sept. 21 — only two days after its final Harrah’s performance. The move extends a 13‑year run that has included previous stops at the Rio, The Strat, Tropicana, and Sahara, with about 5,500 performances since 2013.

There are currently two other Michael Jackson shows in Las Vegas (Cirque’s Michael Jackson One at Mandalay Bay and Michael Jackson the Evolution at Orleans Showroom). All are hoping for a box-office boost from the recent film biopic Michael.
