Las Vegas Woman Arrested for Conspiring to Cheat Mandalay Bay Dealer

Las Vegas police arrested a Las Vegas woman wanted by the Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB). Yuk Wong, 42, allegedly conspired with a dealer at Mandalay Bay in 2023, while playing “I Luv Suits Poker.” That’s according to court documents obtained by KLAS-TV/Las Vegas, which broke the story.

On May 15, police stopped Wong for driving with an expired registration. A check of her name revealed the warrant issued by the NGCB last year. Wong faces five counts of felony cheating at a gambling game and one of felony attempting or conspiring to cheat at a gambling game.

Mandalay Bay security phoned the NGCB when they identified cheating via surveillance video. The guards detained Wong and the dealer until NGCB agents arrived.

At the time, Wong told the agents that “she had seen [the dealer] previously before and likes to gamble at games he is dealing because he helps her understand the game and helps her win,” the documents reported.

“I Luv Suits Poker” is a game that pays off whenever a player receives more suited cards than the dealer. According to the NGCB, the dealer “fraudulently paid Wong for losing hands” 17 times that they knew of. Wong fraudulently concealed her nonsuited cards in the middle of her hand.

Agents later discovered that Wong and the dealer described themselves on Facebook as “in a relationship,” according to the court documents.

The Mandalay Bay dealer’s name was redacted, and their legal status was not provided, though it can be safely assumed that the person is no longer licensed to work as a dealer in Nevada.

Court documents don’t reveal how much Wong is accused of cheating Mandalay Bay out of in total. However, they describe one losing hand for which she was paid “hundreds of dollars.”

Judge Harmony Letizia released Wong on her own recognizance. She is due back in Clark County Justice Court on June 18.
