The iconic yellow emoji that’s been charming visitors and locals alike from the massive LED Exosphere of the Sphere in Las Vegas finally has a name – and official merch to go with it.

Sphere Entertainment Co. announced Thursday that their beloved character is named “Orbi.” And, a brand new e-commerce site opened this morning, shop.thesphere.com, which sells an array of T-shirts, hoodies, trucker hats, tote bags, and baby onesies as part of its “Orbi Collection.”

Orbi first appeared in mid-September 2023, shortly before the Sphere opened to the public with the kickoff of a 100-date residency from the Irish rock band U2.

Since first appearing on the world’s largest LED screen in September 2023, Orbi has been the selfie goal of millions of Las Vegas tourists who stop on the pedestrian bridges (now illegally) to snare a social media-worthy snap.

Orbi adapts to the holidays and seasons, sweating through July’s Las Vegas heat wave, sporting vampire fangs on Halloween and festive sunglass on New Year’s Eve, and catching snowflakes on its tongue during the recent sweater weather.

It’s been made to appear to troll a golfer in this hilarious video.

“Orbi has become a global phenomenon and cultural touchstone, captivating audiences in Las Vegas and on social media with its many expressions,” Chandra Allison, Sphere’s executive VP of sales and service, said in a statement. “The e-commerce site is a way for fans around the world to connect with Orbi and Sphere via official branded merchandise, further extending the reach and visibility of Sphere’s brand.”

The Exosphere, where Orbi lives, is the largest LED screen on Earth, consisting of approximately 1.2 million LED pucks spaced eight inches apart. Each puck contains 48 individual LED diodes.
