The woman underwent emergency treatment for apparently serious injuries Tuesday night at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center. Details regarding her injuries weren’t released and officials didn’t have information on her updated condition as of early Wednesday.

The second pedestrian, described as an 82-year-old man, suffered minor injuries from the accident, according to Las Vegas TV station KSNV. He also was taken to Sunrise Hospital for treatment.

The accident took place at the intersection of Sahara Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard at about 6:30 p.m. That’s when the two were struck by a 2005 Ford F150 pickup truck near the north end of the Las Vegas Strip.

The pair were crossing the street in a crosswalk when the truck moved forward and collided into them, knocking them both to the pavement.

The two did not walk into the road until a signal indicated they could walk across the intersection.

One of the victims resides in California, and their names weren’t immediately released.

Police didn’t identify the driver of the pickup truck, although the motorist stayed at the accident site and apparently spoke to police officers.

It appears he wasn’t impaired at the time of the incident and the accident is being investigated by Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s (LVMPD) Collision Investigation Section.

Man Walks on Runway at Harry Reid

A man climbed over a fence and walked onto a runway at Harry Reid International Airport at about 8 a.m. on Friday morning.

The suspect, Rodney Spears, was apprehended by local police. He was charged with trespass, violation of airport rules of public conduct, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Spears made his way over a fence that was topped with razor wire and which was posted with no trespassing signs, according to Las Vegas TV station KLAS.

Upon his apprehension, officers found 1.6 grams of a white crystal substance on a piece of paper in his possession. It later tested positive for methamphetamine (meth), police said. He also had a glass pipe that had suspected drug residue, police added.

Spears didn’t appear to have suffered any injuries during the incident, and initial reports haven’t explained why he took a walk on the runway. He was booked at the Clark County Detention Center and remained in custody as of Wednesday morning.
