Fargo Brothers Charged in $30K Illegal Poker Game Robbery

Two Fargo brothers have been charged with Class B felony robbery for allegedly helping orchestrate an armed heist on a private poker game that left six players stripped of cash, wallets, and cellphones.

Jackson James Dubois, 22, of Fargo, and Delton Robledo Dubois, 20, of West Fargo, are each charged in Cass County District Court with robbery involving a firearm, dangerous weapon, or destructive device, a Class B felony.

Three men dressed in dark clothing and ski masks entered a building on Northern Pacific Avenue in Fargo during the invite-only game on August 28, according to charging documents reported by Valley News Live.

The gunmen allegedly ordered six players to the floor and relieved them of their wallets and cell phones, as well as cash on the poker table. The total haul was estimated at $2,500.

One player told investigators that a robber placed a gun against the back of his head during the heist.

Former Dealer Suspected

Players reportedly told investigators they suspected a former dealer at the game who had been fired for being intoxicated while working.

The unidentified dealer had previously brought other people to the invite-only game, including Jackson Dubois, according to the charging documents.

Investigators later discovered text messages between Jackson and the former dealer discussing “making money” in the days leading up to the robbery, as well as additional messages allegedly discussing the plan, authorities said.

A third unidentified man interviewed by investigators acknowledged knowing about the alleged robbery plot but said he got “cold feet” and did not enter the building, according to the documents. He has not been charged.

Investigators also used private security footage and traffic cameras to identify a black pickup truck with distinctive chrome trim allegedly used in connection with the robbery. The vehicle was linked to Delton.

A subsequent search of the truck uncovered ski masks, dark clothing, gloves, an empty trash bag, and a bank deposit receipt, according to investigators.

Phones Provide Clues

Two cell phones stolen during the robbery were later recovered near an address associated with Jackson’s former girlfriend.

Jackson told investigators he had spent the evening on FaceTime with his girlfriend, but cell phone location data allegedly placed him in the area of the robbery when it occurred.

Delton denied being at the poker game that night but was nevertheless able to describe details about how someone could gain entry to the private game, according to the charging documents.

Police searching Delton’s apartment found three ammunition magazines in a safe, while a firearm was recovered when investigators subsequently executed a search warrant at Jackson’s residence.

Both brothers were arrested Aug. 31. Cass County Jail records reviewed by Casino.org confirmed both men remain in custody on felony robbery charges.
