A Kansas couple who traveled to Las Vegas to get married had an uninvited guest at their wedding: their baby.

They were scheduled to get married on Aug. 15 at the Little White Chapel, but the universe had other plans. While sightseeing along Fremont Street the night before, the bride-to-be’s water broke.

“I just went to the bathroom and felt cramps,” Kelsey Ross told KLAS-TV/Las Vegas. “Then, all of a sudden, it started trickling.”
An off-duty OB-GYN happened to be eating at the 24-hour White Castle the couple ducked into while waiting for an ambulance. He attended to Kelsey at a table until paramedics arrived about 15 minutes later to rush her to University Medical Center (UMC).
Surprise Birthday
Kelbey Willow Sapphire Ross, not due until Sept. 23, was delivered via C-section at 3:12 a.m. PT Aug. 15, five weeks early.

Twelve hours later, Kelsey and Dakota Ross went ahead with their plans to marry on Aug. 15 — only at the hospital instead of the wedding chapel.
UMC staff arranged a small space for the ceremony. Dr. Francis Bandro, medical director of the NICU, acted as the officiant and Kelbey as flower girl. (Well, she did the best she could.)
A team of NICU nurses and other staff members served as the witnesses and guests, showering the celebration with applause and tears.
“It was like everything was planned, even though it wasn’t planned,” Dakota told KLAS.
It was Kelbey’s first visit to Las Vegas.
