Massachusetts authorities are attempting to confirm the identity of a person who was found over the weekend in the water near the Encore Boston Harbor casino.

The corpse also will likely undergo an autopsy to specify the cause and manner of death.

Casino security guards located the person around 11 a.m. Saturday, according to Massachusetts TV station WCVB. They quickly alerted Everett Police Department officers who launched an investigation. The Everett Fire Department and Massachusetts State Police assisted in the inquiry.

There’s no word on how long the body was in the water before it was retrieved and it’s not immediately known if the person had any forms of ID when he or she was discovered.

Authorities Attempt to ID Man Who Fell at Casino

Authorities are trying to ID a man who fell to his death from the third floor of Harveys Lake Tahoe Hotel & Casino in Stateline, Nev. on Saturday.

The victim was described as Hispanic whose age is between 30 and 40 years old, according to the Tahoe Daily Tribune. He was believed to have arrived at the casino after taking a bus from Los Angeles.

The man fell at about 2:45 p.m. The victim will likely undergo an autopsy to confirm his identify and determine the cause and manner of death.

Fingerprints and DNA will be reviewed, according to a local sheriff’s office.

Michigan Casino Shuttered Due to Data Glitch

Michigan’s Kewadin Casinos gambling operations were closed temporarily after a data glitch. The data security incident halted casino operations, Michigan TV station WJMN reported on Sunday.

The casino hired consultants to ID what caused the glitch and to bring casino operations back online quickly.

The casinos, which are owned by the Sault Tribe of Chippewa Indians, remained shuttered on Monday morning.

Casino Winner Robbed in Texas

Three suspects were arrested for allegedly robbing a woman who had won a jackpot at a Texas casino on Thursday.

After the win, the victim was lured to a Southmayd, Texas residence by another woman, according to Texas TV station KXII. While at the residence, the victim allegedly was robbed by three armed bandits. She was able to flee and called 911.

Police were able to apprehend the suspects who were identified as Dillon Winchester, Shawn Gravette, and Paige Sancho.

The three were arrested on aggravated robbery charges and later booked at the Grayson County Jail. If convicted on the charges, they could be sentenced to prison.

A fourth suspect has yet to be arrested, authorities said.
