Vladimir Guerrero Jr. from the Blue Jays is the second betting favorite to win the Home Run Derby at +370 odds, according to DraftKings.

The popular Home Run Derby takes place Monday night during the All-Star Game festivities at T-Mobile Park in Seattle.

2023 Home Run Derby Odds

  • Pete Alonso +320
  • Vlad Guerrero Jr. +370
  • Julio Rodriguez +450
  • Luis Robert +500
  • Adolis Garcia +700
  • Mookie Betts +1000
  • Randy Arozarena +1100
  • Adley Rutschman +1700

Juan Soto, who played for the Washington Nationals last season, defeated Seattle Mariners rookie Julio Rodriguez in the final round to win the 2022 Home Run Derby. Soto currently plays for San Diego Padres and won’t participate in the Home Run Derby this year.

The home run leaders from each league also won’t be making appearances in the derby. Shohei Ohtani from the Los Angeles Angels leads the American League and the majors with 32 home runs. Matt Olson from the Atlanta Braves leads the National League with 29 dingers.

#1 Luis Robert Jr. (-230) vs #8 Adley Rutschman (+190)

The first-round matchups are determined by current home run totals as of July 4.

Luis Robert Jr., a centerfielder from the Chicago White Sox is having a breakout season. He’s tied for third overall in MLB with 26 home runs and he earned the #1 seed.

Robert is +500 to win the Home Run Derby as the third-highest slugger on the board. He’s also -230 odds to win the opening round over Adley Rutschman.

Rutschman is in his second season in the pros with the Baltimore Orioles. The catcher smacked 13 home runs in 113 games last season, and he already has 12 in 86 games this season. As the #8 seed, Rutschman is +190 odds to upset the top-seeded Robert in the first round. Rutschman is also the long shot on the board at +1700 odds to win the Home Run Derby outright.

#2 Pete Alonso (-150) vs. #7 Julio Rodriguez (+125)

Fans can’t wait for this first-round joust, which is a rematch of last year’s Home Run Derby.

Alonso is a two-time champ and Rodriguez is a hometown hero and the runner-up from last summer. Alonso is the consensus favorite to win the Home Run Derby at +320 odds, and Rodriguez is fourth on the board at +450 odds.

Alonso is the favorite to win the opening round at -150 odds versus +125 odds for Rodriguez. Rodriguez upset Alonso last year when the rookie out-bashed Alonso, 31-22, in the second round.

Alonso hit 26 home runs this season, and only Ohtani and Olson hit more long balls than Alonso heading into the All-Star Break. He recently bounced back from a short stint on the IL with a left wrist injury.

Rodriguez won the AL Rookie of the Year last season and nearly stole the show at the 2022 All-Star Game at Dodger Stadium when he reached the final round. He lost to Soto by just one home run, but the 21-year-old kid from the Dominican Republic quickly won over fans all over the world with his sweet swing.

Rodriguez only hit 13 home runs through 87 games this season, which is why he’s the #7 seed and squaring off against Alonso with the #2 seed.

Rodriguez has the added benefit of playing in his own stadium, which is why he offers up solid value at +450 odds to win the entire Home Run Derby on his own field.

#3 Mookie Betts (+170) vs. #6 Vlad Guerrero Jr. (-205)

Mookie Betts hit 26 home runs in 86 games with the Los Angeles Dodgers this season, and he’s on pace to set a personal record. He hit a career-best 35 last season, so he’s well within reach of breaking his own mark.

Betts is the #3 seed, yet he’s an underdog in the opening round at +170 odds to defeat Guerrero. He’s also near the bottom of the board at +1000 odds to win the derby.

Guerrero is a popular pick to win this year’s Home Run Derby, which is why he’s +370 odds and second overall on the board. Guerrero is also a sizable favorite to win the first-round heads-up battle against Betts at -205 odds even though Betts smacked twice as many homers (26) as he hit this season with 13 dingers.

#4 Adolis Garcia (-145) vs. #5 Randy Arozarena (+120)

Cuban baseball fans will be on the edge of their seats when two of their countrymen square off in the first round of the Home Run Derby.

Texas Rangers outfielder Adolis Garcia hit 23 home runs this season, but he leads the majors with 75 RBI. Garcia is a favorite to advance to the second round at -145 odds, and he’s +700 odds to win the derby outright.

Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Randy Arozarena hit 16 home runs in 88 games in 2023. He has a little extra pop in his bat this season considering he hit 20 home runs in each of the last two seasons. Arozarena is the underdog in this matchup against Garcia, and he’s +120 odds to pick off his fellow Cuban. Arozarena is also one of the long shots on the board to win outright at +1100 odds.
