Strat True Locals is a derivative of Golden Entertainment’s True Rewards player loyalty program. To enjoy the dining and entertainment perks offered in the new loyalty scheme, participants must show a valid form of Nevada identification and their True Rewards cards at the Strat. Benefits include:

20% off total food and beverage at The STRAT’s award-winning restaurants and bars, including Top of the World Steakhouse, which offers 360-degree rotating views from the tower, as well as PT’s Wings & Sports, CHĪ Asian Kitchen and a variety of bars and eateries throughout the resort,” according to a press release.

There’s also a 25% discount for all bookings at Atomic Golf as well as 50% off hotel stays at the Strat when guests book directly through the venue’s website.

Other Perks, Some Restrictions

It’s free to join both True Rewards and Strat True Locals, and that’s a good thing because membership in the former is required to join the latter.

There are some other requirements of which guests need to be aware. They must be 21 years old and reside within 50 miles of the Strat to join the Las Vegas locals loyalty scheme. Additionally, Strat True Locals benefits are available Sunday through Thursday, but True Rewards members who are Las Vegas locals can access free parking at the Strat seven days a week. That’s nothing to scoff at when considering many Sin City casinos leverage parking as a money maker or place heavy restrictions on when its free or discounted.

While Strat True Locals emphasizes dining and entertainment benefits, Golden noted there are potential gaming-related perks, including “access to exclusive locals-only events, point multipliers, tournaments, and more.”

The new loyalty offering also includes free admission to the Strat’s observation deck and 50% off tickets for shows and thrill rides.

Smart Move by Golden

Strat True Locals could be an asset in luring more local players in Southern Nevada to the casino hotel. It’s located off the Strip, but many tourists think it’s a Strip property, implying there’s a blurred line regarding location and core constituency.

While the Strat does appeal to and attract plenty of out-of-towners, Golden’s efforts to drive more local traffic to the venue could pay dividends, and it’s not a heavy lift for the operator to do that because its other Las Vegas casinos are heavily focused on the locals’ demographic.

Likewise, Golden’s PT’s Pubs units owns more than 70 gaming bars in Nevada under the Lucky’s, PT’s Gold, PT’s Pubs, PT’s Ranch, and Sean Patrick’s brands, among others. Those venues also focus on business from Las Vegas residents.
