Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City will soon unveil its expanded LandShark Bar & Grill.

In February, the New Jersey Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA) approved plans from Resorts and IMCMV Holdings, which operates the casino’s Margaritaville Restaurant and associated LandShark Bar & Grill, to expand its beach footprint to include new amenities and draws. Resorts announced this week that the project is nearing completion.
We are ecstatic for the expansion of LandShark Bar & Grill and to invest in the greatest beach bar experience in the city,” said Mark Giannantonio, president & CEO of Resorts Casino Hotel and the president of the Casino Association of New Jersey. “LandShark Bar & Grill truly takes advantage of the beach, ocean, and boardwalk, which are our greatest amenities that set Atlantic City apart from all other gaming destinations.”
Giannantonio added that he “can’t wait to see the beach in front of Resorts and LandShark packed with visitors this summer.” LandShark is Atlantic City’s only year-round beach bar.
Atlantic City’s High Tide Approaches
The expanded LandShark Bar & Grill — located directly across the Boardwalk from Resorts — includes a larger oceanfront tiki bar and deck, more chaise lounge chairs on the beach, and the return of the beach stage and dance floor. Private cabanas with bottle service and a firepit lounge are also forthcoming.
David Crabtree, CEO of IMCMV Holdings, whose firm is a licensee of Margaritaville Restaurants and LandShark Bar & Grill and has operated the two establishments at Resorts since May 2013, said the expanded footprint “takes the LandShark experience to the next level.”
While the specific investment made by IMCMV wasn’t made public, Giannantonio previously said it was “a very large commitment.”
“This new beach bar will have more space, more ocean views, and more ways to soak up that laid-back island vibe Atlantic City deserves. We can’t wait to welcome locals and visitors alike to the ultimate year-round beach escape,” said Crabtree.
Road Paving Forthcoming?
Atlantic City’s nine casinos are betting on a profitable summer after making considerable investments. Each casino has invested in new amenities, from gaming floor updates and expansions to new restaurants, beach restoration, and the return of the city’s celebrated air show.
As for ongoing concerns about infrastructure, Atlantic County Executive Dennis Levinson reveals to Casino.org that he’s willing to front the funds needed for Atlantic Ave. and other city roads in desperate need of repair and repaving. Levinson reveals he was recently told by US Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-NJ) that he believes he’ll have federal money for roads in Atlantic City — but he “doesn’t know when it’s coming.”
I am willing to put that money up until the money comes through and pays us back in full,” Levinson said. “I’ve made that offer. I’m waiting to hear back [from Van Drew].”
After experiencing three years of in-person gross gaming revenue gains following the pandemic, Atlantic City casinos saw brick-and-mortar play slow by 1.1% in 2024. That trend has continued in 2025, with retail slot and table game win down 2% through April year over year.
However, with the return of ample beach space, an abundance of new features, and the return of the air show and beach concerts, Atlantic City could be primed for a comeback.
