- Surveillance video captures fatal shooting of Na’Onche Osborne and aftermath
- Suspect led police on a 20-mile carjacking spree
- Prosecutors may pursue death penalty in violent rampage
Surveillance video newly released by Las Vegas Metro Police (LVMPD) shows the moments leading up to the murder of a former Nevada state senator’s son. It also sheds light on the chaotic aftermath, as suspect Aerion Warmsley led police on a 20-mile chase across Las Vegas that involved several crashes and three carjackings.

Warmsley, 19, is accused of fatally shooting Na’Onche Osborne, 23, on the gaming floor of the Aliante Casino in the early hours of March 28. Osborne was the adopted son of former State Senator and one-time mayoral candidate Pat Spearman.
Video taken from Aliante’s eye in the sky showed the two men meet on the gaming floor and exchange a few words. Suddenly, the figure identified as the suspect pulled out a gun and lashed out at Osborne, pistol-whipping him in the head. The video cut off as the suspect aimed his gun at the other man.
Prosecutors say Warmsley shot Osborne seven times. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Chaotic Chase
Warmsley fled the casino, carjacking a woman at a nearby auto repair shop. Shortly afterward, he crashed into another vehicle and then slammed into a bus stop, injuring two people, one critically. Helicopter footage showed him exiting the damaged vehicle and running to a nearby drive-thru where he stole another car at gunpoint.
Warmsley continued his flight, driving at speeds of more than 100 mph while pursued by police and tracked by the helicopter. Eventually, he lost control of the vehicle. Video showed him take off on foot again, before jumping into the back of a car on Boulder Highway.
At gunpoint, Warmsley ordered the terrified couple in the front to drive at high speeds. Eventually, police were able to ram the car, using four different cruisers to take it out.
An officer’s bodycam captured the image that accompanies this article as they pulled Warmsley out of the car.
Death Penalty Possible
Clark County prosecutors have charged Warmsley with 28 felony counts, including murder with a deadly weapon, multiple counts of robbery and burglary, kidnapping, coercion, battery, domestic battery, reckless driving resulting in substantial bodily harm, and duty to stop at the scene of a crash involving death or injury.
Prosecutors have said they are considering whether to pursue the death penalty in the case.
Additionally, Warmsley faces six federal counts: two counts of carjacking resulting in serious bodily injury, three counts of brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence, and one count of simple carjacking.
