Na’Onche Osborne, 23, died from multiple gunshot wounds sustained inside a garage at the Aliante Casino & Hotel in North Las Vegas, the Clark County coroner’s office said on Saturday.

Following the shooting, the suspect, identified as 19-year-old Aerion Warmsley, led police on a chase at speeds up to 105 mph, involving three carjackings and a crash at a bus stop at which he critically injured a mother of four. He also struck at least one other pedestrian, according to his arrest report.

“It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of Senator Spearman’s beloved son,” read a statement issued to the media by attorney Ozzie Fumo, a Spearman family spokesman. “This is an unimaginable loss for the senator and their family, and they are heartbroken.”

Prior Arrest

Osborne, who was adopted by Spearman as a teen, was arrested in October 2022 for shooting and wounding his cousin after being confronted for blowing marijuana smoke into the face of a 5-year-old boy.

Osborne pleaded guilty to one felony count each of battery with use of a deadly weapon and carrying a concealed firearm, according to District Court records.

According to his North Las Vegas Police Department arrest report, Osborne made multiple threats to shoot members of the Spearman family and, on another occasion, fired a gun through a wall into an occupied room.

Police did not speculate on a motive for Osborne’s murder. However, in addition to open murder, Warmsley was also charge with robbery with a deadly weapon. He is being held at the North Las Vegas Community Correction Center.
