Aerion Warmsley, the 19-year-old Las Vegas resident arrested by Las Vegas police for murdering a former Nevada state senator’s son at the Aliante Casino on March 27, now faces federal charges for the multiple carjackings and high-speed police chase that followed.

According to court records obtained by KTNV-TV/Las Vegas, a federal grand jury indicted Warmsley on Tuesday on two counts of carjacking resulting in serious bodily injury, three counts of brandishing a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, and one count of carjacking.
This is in addition to the 28 state charges he faces in Las Vegas Justice Court, including murder, battery, robbery, reckless driving and kidnapping.

Warmsley is accused of shooting 23-year-old Na’Onche Osborne to death on the floor of Aliente Casino, the North Las Vegas property owned by Boyd Gaming. Osborne was the adopted son of former Nevada State Senator Pat Spearman.
Federal prosecutors say Warmsley then stole two different Mercedes-Benz vehicles and a Kia SUV, using “force, violence and intimidation,” in an attempt to evade arrest.
After crashing the first Mercedes around 30 minutes after the shooting, Warmsley allegedly seized another vehicle at gunpoint, which he then abandoned in a fast-food restaurant. He then carjacked a third vehicle and sped off, pursued by law enforcement and tracked by a helicopter.
After reaching speeds of more than 105 mph, Warmsley slammed into a bus stop at Boulder Highway and Tropicana Avenue, injuring at least two bystanders.
The chase continued after Warmsley allegedly managed to carjack a third vehicle. Eventually, police rammed the car and arrested Warmsley around 9 a.m., five and a half hours after he fled Aliante.
Warmsley is scheduled to be arraigned on the new federal charges on May 13.
