  • The suspect led police on an hours-long car chase before finally being arrested

A Las Vegas man accused of shooting a former Nevada state senator’s son to death at the Aliante Casino on March 27 had threatened to kill a woman the day prior, according to police.

Aerion Warmsley fled when police approached him as he sat in a car outside the unnamed woman’s apartment on March 26, per a police report. Officers were called because Warmsley had texted the woman asking her if she wanted to die, the document said.

The suspect drove off in a Mercedes sedan with “unique markings” before officers could speak to him. However, the encounter was documented, which played a crucial role in identifying Warmsley as the primary suspect in the murder of Na’onche Osborne, 23.

Senator’s Son

At around 4:30 a.m. the next morning, Warmsley allegedly shot Osborne dead on the Aliante’s casino floor, according to a newly publicized arrest report. This contradicts previous media reports that the killing occurred in one of the casino’s hotel rooms or its parking garage.

The victim, who was the 23-year-old adopted son of former Nevada State Senator Pat Spearman, was shot seven times, according to the report.

Warmsley and another man were spotted by Aliante security cameras conversing with the victim on the casino floor.

What at first seemed to be a cordial encounter took a deadly turn when Warmsley attempted to pistol whip Osborne in the head but missed, according to police. The victim tried to run but was shot multiple times.

The suspect then searched Osborne’s pockets and stole an unknown item from him, police claimed.

Carjack Rampage

Warmsley subsequently led police on a chaotic car chase that involved multiple carjackings at gunpoint.

After crashing his Mercedes around 30 minutes after the shooting, Warmsley allegedly violently seized another vehicle, which he then abandoned in a fast-food restaurant.

Then he carjacked another vehicle and sped off, pursued by law enforcement and tracked by a helicopter, according to reports.

After reaching speeds of more than 105 miles per hour, the suspect slammed into a bus stop at Boulder Highway and Tropicana Avenue, injuring at least two bystanders, one critically, according to police.

The chase continued after Warmsley allegedly managed to carjack a third vehicle. Eventually, police rammed the car and arrested Warmsley around 9 a.m., five and a half hours after he fled the Aliante.

Warmsley is facing one count of open murder with a deadly weapon and one count of robbery with a deadly weapon.
