Las Vegas will soon let you try on the shoes of a reluctant assassin without all those pesky real bullets flying at your head.

An interactive attraction based on the popular John Wick action movies is set to open later this year, it was announced Thursday by franchise owner Lionsgate Entertainment.

Something Wick This Way Comes

AREA15 will house the John Wick Experience in a standalone building enclosing 12,000 square feet of “immersive theatre and highly themed cinematic environments,” according to a Lionsgate press release.

Visitors will be staggered in groups, each tasked with specific missions “playing out in unique ways with characters, mythology, and iconography from the Wick universe,” the release claims.

They “will be drawn into the culture, trusted with secrets, and invited to private areas of the Continental,” the release promises, referring to a luxury hotel chain in the franchise that has cornered the market on assassins, apparently by extending them rewards points for assassinations — or something.

The AREA15 attraction will, of course, also feature a themed bar, where patrons over 21 are invited to get buzzed before spending more than they intended to at the adjacent John Wick retail shop.

Already home to Meow Wolf’s Omega Mart art universe, AREA15 is a collection of warehouses two miles west of the Strip that has already become a destination theme park for Millennials and those Gen Zers who are old enough to drink.

By Halloween, AREA15 is also expected to open Universal Studios’ first attraction not situated in a Universal theme park, a year-round haunted house called Universal Horror Unleashed.

The John Wick Experience is a co-creation of AREA15, Lionsgate, franchise director Chad Stahelski, and Egan Productions, a designer of attractions and live events, including the Saw-themed escape room that debuted four miles north of AREA15 in 2018 and is still open.

It’s always gratifying to see people embrace your story and characters, whether on the big screen or with a fully immersive experience like this one,” Stahelski said in an official statement. “The teams at Lionsgate, AREA15, and Egan really dive into this world, and I’m excited that fans will experience it live in Vegas.”

There is still life left in the franchise, as proven by last year’s John Wick: Chapter 4, which earned $440 million at the U.S. box office, and the Peacock spin-off series, The Continental: From the World of John Wick.
