Here’s some good news for anyone lacking the perfect example to cite for Las Vegas not being what it used to be. A video posted to the live-streaming platform Kick.com on Sunday documents Resorts World refusing to comp drinks for a well-known high-roller playing $25,000 blackjack hands because he wasn’t staying at the hotel.

Xposed (real name: Cody Burnett), who has 400,000 followers on Twitch, live-streamed his gambling exploits with three friends at Red Rock and Resorts World on Sunday.

At one point during their blackjack play at Resorts World, while Xposed is playing blackjack for $25,000 a hand, he asks a server for a water and an orange juice. His friend then piggybacks on the order, requesting a strawberry-banana smoothie.

“Sure,” the server replies. “You have a room with us?”

When Xposed and his friends answer no, the server replies in a stammering delivery suggesting that he realizes how bad he’s about to make his employer look by repeating what he seems to have been instructed to say.

“Uhh, I can’t comp it but I can … yeah,” the server says.

“We would have to comp it,” Xposed cuts the server off, fully aware of how reasonable his request is. “I mean, we’re playing $25,000 hands.”

When the server asks if the players would like to speak to his manager, Xposed replies, “Yes, please.”

“This is, like, the difference between Red Rock and here,” says the friend who requested the smoothie.

A third friend, who has until then been laughing maniacally at what his eyes and ears were telling him he was witnessing, tries to react but can only form the words: “Jesus Christ, that’s wild!”

Check out the exchange starting at 5:43 in this video.

When X user @M19190191 isolated and shared the exchange, the internet exploded, immediately and predictably. His clip generated nearly 750,000 views in less than 24 hours.

“People need to stop going to casinos that act like that,” commented @SATX_Poker. “I bet a fraction of this on BJ 300/500 a hand and Bellagio, Aria and Venetian bend over backwards to make sure I’m happy and get what I want.”

“Free parking and no resort fee is just putting lipstick on a pig,” added @SkylarJameson1, referring to the promotions undertaken by Resorts World this summer to position itself as a value destination.

“They need to make up the millions in fines to the gaming board they paid,” commented @CasablancaRic, referring to the second-largest fine in Las Vegas history, approved against Resorts World in March for money-laundering.

The funniest comment came from the sharp social media manager at Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa.

“Wait what did he say?” the account replied, referring to the earlier comment about Red Rock.

Xposed himself tweeted his own version on Tuesday, achieving 118K views within eight hours.

“$25,000 Bets, but had a hard time getting a $10 smoothie for free… lol,” he wrote.

Resorts World did not immediately reply to Casino.org‘s request for a comment.
