DraftKings Top-Rated Sports Betting App, Caesars Rising

  • DraftKings takes top spot among OSB apps, according to research firm
  • Caesars, Fanatics making strides, too

DraftKings was again the highest-rated online sports betting (OSB) mobile application in a survey conducted by Eilers & Krejcik Gaming (EKG).

The research firm recently released its OSB app rankings for the first half of 2025 with DraftKings taking the top spot for the second consecutive report. EKG points out that DraftKings not only accomplished that feat, it did so while slightly extending its lead over rival FanDuel. FanDuel, a unit of Flutter Entertainment, and DraftKings hold a duopoly over internet sports wagering in the US.

The app delivers an exceptional UX, deep markets, and a comprehensive feature set. The only real nitpicking from testers was occasionally glitchy live streaming and holes in cash-out availability,” said EKG with regards to the DraftKings app.

Scoring highly in the EKG survey is a plus for operators because various polls and studies confirm that bettors prioritize ease-of-use and technology when selecting sportsbook apps and deciding whether or not to stick with those products.

A Caesars Surprise

Caesars Entertainment’s Caesars Sportsbook trails FanDuel, DraftKings, and BetMGM in terms of market share, but it’s gaining share on the iGaming side and it’s making tech strides in sports betting.

“Caesars Sportsbook has achieved its highest-ever rank in our OSB report, landing in 5th place,” adds EKG. “Its attractive, functional UX and intuitive Betting Interface—now with improved market depth—had long hovered just outside the top five and has finally broken through.”

The improvement in the EKG survey comes at a time when Caesars Digital is increasingly profitable and the fate of the business is widely discussed because analysts, investors, and management believe the online unit’s progress isn’t adequately reflected in the stock price.

There’s been talk of a potential spin-off of Caesars Digital and management has said it’s open to assessing options for that business if it can be a value-generating event for shareholders.

Improving, Needs Improvement

Among other operators climbing the ranks in the EKG survey, Fanatics continues to impress. It retained the third spot in the first half of 2025 poll after ranking there in second half of 2024 edition. That was after placing sixth in the first six months of last year.

The research firm points out that Fanatics, which is one of the newer entrants in the US OSB space, trails the DraftKings and FanDuel apps by small margins and is a credible threat to ascend to the top spot in future editions of the survey. On the other side of the ledge, EKG said BetMGM has some work to do.

“BetMGM has long struggled with speed, but beneath those issues lies a strong OSB app. Addressing load times and lag would significantly elevate the experience, as slow responsiveness often makes a meaningful impact on testers’ perception of the overall product,” according to the research firm. “With better speed—and a slightly improved feature set—BetMGM could prove a force to be reckoned with.”
