DraftKings Casino Review 2022

Founded in 2012, DraftKings was at the forefront of the daily fantasy sports boom alongside its major competitor FanDuel. It was a no-brainer to expand into sports betting and online casino gaming when the opportunity presented itself, and today you can access all three on the same platform. DraftKings Casino is available in plenty of US states, including Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Michigan, West Virginia, and New Jersey.

DraftKings knows what modern gambling fans want – everything from the intelligent design of its software to its wide range of bonuses and promotions attests to that. Below we review both alongside the game menu, banking experience, security, customer support, mobile play, and more.

Hits

  • Exclusive DraftKings slots & live dealer games
  • Welcome bonus worth up to $2,000
  • Well-designed software and app
  • Regular rewards and promotions

Misses

  • Wagering requirements quite high for some games
  • No 24/7 live chat support

Software and range of games

4.5/5

The first thing that strikes us about DraftKings is how well designed the platform is. The games categories are neatly lined up in a menu on the left-hand side, with the number of games noted beside. When you choose a category, the thumbnails are nicely spaced out in rows in the center of the screen.

Almost every game can be played for real money or in demo mode. The DraftKings Education Hub has articles and videos to explain how the different types of games work. You'll find this in the How to Play section of the main menu.

In terms of the number of games, DraftKings is probably somewhere around average, with more than 600 different titles, which we’ll get into next.

Slots

Slots are always the biggest part of any online casino, and DraftKings has more than 500 titles, though that number may vary depending on your state. The games come from a select group of software providers, with the majority from NetEnt and IGT - both among the best in the business. DraftKings also has some exclusive games created just for the platform, which is nice to see in an industry with so much overlap.

During our tests, all the slots on DraftKings worked perfectly. The variety of slots is good, with tons of different themes and design, including modern 3D games.

There is also a healthy selection of jackpot slots, including Cleopatra Mega Jackpot which had a $600,000 top prize during our review.

Table games

The table game selection is very good at DraftKings, including a few features that really help it to stand out from competitors. You’ll find all the classics in this section, with multiple tables for blackjack, roulette, baccarat, poker variants, craps, and keno.

Taking a leaf from its sports betting and DFS book, DraftKings has created special blackjack and roulette editions themed around top US sports - basketball, football, hockey, baseball and even soccer. It makes a lot of sense for the brand, and the games are great for crossover casino and sports fans.

There’s also a “Variety” tab, which has more than 30 fun non-casino style games, including Wheel of Fortune and bingo style games.

Live casino

DraftKings’ live dealer games are provided by Evolution, for our money one of the very best live providers in the business. There are even a couple of exclusive games on DraftKings. Besides this there are multiple baccarat, poker, roulette and blackjack tables, including Infinite Blackjack where an unlimited amount of people play together.

There are also Game Shows like Dream Catcher, which are a nice change of pace from more classic casino games.

Overall, we’re impressed.

Bonuses and promotions

4.5/5

A huge part of DraftKings is discovering fun ways to compete against other players and making the most of special tournaments and promotions. It feels like DraftKings has taken that attitude with its casino, with lots of little bonus morsels to take advantage of as you play.

For a start, the welcome bonus is extremely valuable: an 100% boost on your first deposit worth up to an incredible $2,000. The bonus cash comes with 15x wagering requirements, and the games contribute at varying rates. If you claim the full $2,000, you’ll need to play through a minimum of $60,000 to clear your funds, and it could be significantly more. It’s true that $2,000 is very generous, but we’d like to see those wagering requirements lowered somewhat - many players will be understandably reluctant to gamble that much.

DraftKings has loads of on-running promotions too. There is a refer a friend program, worth $100 in site credits when you invite someone to sign up. Leaderboard races are common, with DraftKings providing prizes for whoever plays the most in a given time period.

VIP rewards

Every time you bet real money on any DraftKings service, you’ll earn crowns which can be redeemed for site credits and other prizes and rewards. There are five levels of prizes, which you reach as you earn more crowns. DraftKings also has a VIP program which is invite only for top players, and unlocks lots of exciting offers.

Banking options

4.5/5

The banking process at DraftKings was very smooth, with lots of different methods supported and fast access to your cash. You can choose between online bank transfer, credit and debit cards, DK gift cards, PayPal, Play+ Card, e-checks, wire transfer, and cash at the casino cage.

For the most part, you can use the same method to withdraw as you used to deposit, with bank cards being an exception. It’s also worth noting that some methods are restricted for DFS but available for the casino, and vice versa.

Limits for both deposits and withdrawals vary and can be adjusted. DK advertise that withdrawals are processed within 5 business days, but in our experience it’s quicker than that.

Security and fair play

4.5/5

After a decade in the industry, DraftKings is an expert in gambling legally online. The DK casino is currently available in Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. The platform has received a separate license in each, and is independently regulated for fairness by the corresponding body. In NJ for example, DraftKings is monitored by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement.

The site has a good help section for customer support, although it is a little hard to find at the very bottom of the page. There is a live chat service during business hours, but not 24/7. If you’re contacting them outside of hours you can leave a message.

Conclusion

It’s hard to find many faults with DraftKings Casino. If we were being extremely picky, we could say that with around 600 games it’s not the deepest menu in the US. And the wagering requirements are a bit steep on the welcome bonus. But to be honest, that’s all we've got.

In general, this is an excellent platform. The games are fun and varied, and even include exclusive slots and live dealer tables exclusive to DraftKings. The welcome bonus is worth up to $2,000 (notwithstanding the playthrough), there are tons of on running promotions, and the software is very impressive. You also get access to one of the best sportsbooks and DFS platforms in the world.

We’re big fans of DraftKings, and chances are you probably will be too.
