A man shot in the neck last week was able to walk into the nearby Horseshoe Casino St. Louis to ask for help.

The unnamed victim apparently was wounded near the Mississippi River at about 4:30 a.m. on Thursday, according to St. Louis, Mo. TV station KTVI.
The man was taken for treatment at a local hospital. No word on his updated condition.
The shooter was still at large as of this weekend. Police didn’t reveal the reason behind the shooting.
Prior Shooting
The shooting comes over a month after a similar incident near the same casino.
On December 12, two men, ages 40 and 30, showed up at the casino suffering from gunshot wounds. A 26-year-old woman also drove to the casino’s parking lot in a vehicle that was damaged by bullets.
That incident may have been linked to a drug transaction.
Illegal Casino Searched in California
Oakland Police Department (OPD) officers raided an illegal casino on East 12th Street on Thursday.
Several illicit firearms, illegal drugs, an unspecified amount of cash, and gaming machines were confiscated by local police.
Police also apprehended a person at the gaming joint who had a pending warrant for a shooting in Oakland. The suspect’s case will be turned over to local prosecutors.
No word if other individuals will be charged as a result of the gambling raid.
The East Oakland operation was the site of repetitive illegal gambling, police said. It appears the investigation was launched after complaints were made by residents about suspicious activity taking place in the immediate area.
Judge Approves Warrant
Officials previously presented evidence to a local judge to obtain a search warrant in the case. Once approved, the raid took place.
Police said the surrounding location was the site of several violent incidents.
This operation highlights the diligent efforts of OPD officers in addressing crime and enhancing community safety,” the OPD said in a statement.
“OPD would like to thank our community members who continue to report illegal activities. We encourage residents to continue working with the department by reporting illegal gambling or other dangerous activities to help keep our neighborhoods safe.”
Police raids targeting illegal gambling and other crimes are likely to continue by the OPD. Illegal gaming often is linked to other crimes, such as violent attacks, drugs, illegal weapons, sex trafficking, etc., according to California authorities.
