A man accused of shooting a woman at California’s Tachi Palace Casino Resort on Friday night shot himself just hours later, and died from the wounds, the Kings County Sheriff’s Office revealed on Saturday.

The unnamed suspect fled from the Lemoore, Calif. tribal gaming property after wounding the woman. He later was located in a vehicle in Fresno, Calif., some 38 miles from the casino.
Fresno police officers attempted to stop the car in which he was driving.
But he kept on driving until he reached the intersection of Hamilton Avenue and Cedar Avenue.
Before he could be apprehended, the suspect shot himself. He was rushed to a nearby hospital. But he was declared dead after emergency treatment.
His body will likely undergo an autopsy to confirm the cause and manner of death. His identity will be released by the medical examiner’s office, too.
It’s believed local police were able to locate and seize the firearm used by the suspect.
No one else was injured when the suspect fired the gun in Fresno.
Woman Airlifted to Hospital
The woman who was shot by the suspect at the casino was hospitalized. Her updated condition wasn’t immediately available. The extent of her injuries was unknown.
The injuries were severe enough, however, that she had to be airlifted to an unspecified hospital, according to California TV station KMPH.
She was shot at about 7 p.m. while in Parking Lot No. 3 at the Tachi Palace Casino Resort, according to a social media post by the casino.
Police didn’t reveal the woman’s name, but described her as being in 20s.
It appears the woman and the man got into an argument which escalated, according to a statement from Tachi Palace Casino Resort.
There was a domestic dispute between two individuals that resulted in one individual sustaining a gunshot wound,” the casino revealed in the statement.
The woman was the only one injured in the shooting at the casino.
The scene is secure, and the situation is under control,” the statement from the casino said as of Friday night.
Casino operations at the Tachi Palace Casino Resort were normal as of late Friday night.
The Kings County Sheriff’s office is investigating the incident.
Other details weren’t immediately released by the casino or local authorities.
