On Tuesday (Oct. 6), BetMGM, a leading sports betting and iGaming operator, revealed a partnership with Gametime. The platform’s patrons can now redeem their BetMGM Rewards for an array of live event tickets.

Loyalty isn’t just about earning and spending points; it’s about giving players opportunities to enjoy special moments they can’t find anywhere else,” said Matt Prevost, chief revenue officer at BetMGM. “Our partnership with Gametime gives customers more flexibility in how they use their points while connecting them to the events they care about most.”

Gametime is a mobile-first ticketing platform for fans to buy and sell tickets.

“Live events have a way of turning a good day into a great story, and that’s the reason Gametime exists. Partnering with BetMGM lets us bring that feeling to even more fans, giving players a fast, easy way to trade their rewards for a night they won’t forget,” said Brad Griffith, founder and CEO of Gametime.

BetMGM Customers Automatically Enrolled in Rewards

When an account on the BetMGM platform is created in one of the 23 states and Washington, DC, where the app is available for sports betting and/or iGaming, the customer is automatically enrolled in BetMGM Rewards. Bettors amass loyalty points with each bet they make on the platform. BetMGM Rewards points are also earned by making sports bets at retail BetMGM sportsbooks nationwide.

Before the Gametime partnership, BetMGM Rewards points could be redeemed only for free bets, including bonus credits for online casino play, poker fees, and sports wagering. Members could also transfer their points to MGM Rewards, which offers non-gaming redemption options, or convert them into Marriott Bonvoy points.

Now, BetMGM Rewards members can spend points on tickets to live events by converting the loyalty credits into Gametime funds. BetMGM says Rewards members now have access to tickets for “high-demand” events.

Gametime pledges a “fan-friendly” platform where listed prices include all fees.

Gametime additionally features a “Lowest Price Guarantee,” where a user who finds a lower price will be made up “110% of the difference.” For example, if someone paid $150 on Gametime and comes across the same seat on another platform for $100, the customer will receive $55 in Gametime credits.

BetMGM Market Share

BetMGM continues to invest in increasing its online sports betting and iGaming share in the markets where it operates against its two larger competitors—DraftKings and FanDuel.

During the company’s first-quarter earnings report, BetMGM said it held a 13% market share in the 23 jurisdictions where its online sportsbook operates and a 20% market share in its four iGaming states.
