Westgate Resorts, the operator of the Las Vegas Strip casino hotel of the same name, announced that its properties are now part of Choice Hotels International’s loyalty platform and are available for booking on the hotelier’s website.

Maryland-based Choice operates hotels under the Radisson, Cambria, and Ascend Hotel Collection brands, among others. Its points program is known as Choice Privileges. The addition of Westgate properties to Choice Privileges significantly expands the number of rooms available to members of the loyalty plan.
Westgate’s vacation resorts add to more than 1,000 luxury and upscale, full-service properties bookable through Choice,” according to a statement. “It also follows the launch of exciting new Choice Privileges features this month, including the tripling of the reward night booking window to 50 weeks and the introduction of Choice RewardSaver, a redemption tool that gives customers the opportunity to book hotel stays for as low as 6,000 points.”
Westgate has its own loyalty scheme — World of Westgate (WOW) Loyalty Program — but it’s not clear how that offering will interact with Choice Privileges, if at all.
Westgate Portfolio Extends Well Beyond Las Vegas
Visitors to Las Vegas know about the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino, home to one of the largest sportsbooks in the US, and the nongaming Westgate Flamingo Bay Resort, but the company’s portfolio extends far beyond Sin City.
Privately held Westgate is one of the largest timeshare companies in the US, with venues in destinations such as Orlando, and Cocoa Beach, Fla,, New York City, Park City, Utah, Las Vegas, Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Tenn., Myrtle Beach, SC, Williamsburg, Va., Branson, Miss., and Mesa, Ariz.
Westgate owns and runs seven properties in Orlando, which like Las Vegas, is one of the biggest domestic tourist destinations. That Florida footprint could be additive to the Choice/Westgate partnership as members of the hotel rewards programs book Westgate rooms in the Sunshine State.
Choice Hotels Expands Casino Ties
Choice Hotels doesn’t directly operate casinos, but in addition to the new agreement with Westgate, it has ties to the gaming industry.
In 2021, the hotel company teamed up with Penn Entertainment on a reciprocal agreement designed to increase the allure of both operators’ rewards plans. The deal was sensible for Penn because Choice has a slew of hotels within driving distance of the gaming company’s regional casinos.
Two years ago, Choice added Circus Circus on the Strip to its Ascend Hotel Collection, a group of boutique, historic, and resort hotels. There are more than 55 million members in Choice Privileges.
