A fourth victim suffered what were described as non-life-threatening injuries. The shootings took place at about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday on West Chicago Avenue, north of the Strip.

One of the fatally wounded victims succumbed to his injuries at the crime scene, passing away on a sidewalk, according to Las Vegas TV station KSNV.

The three other wounded victims were driven to Valley Hospital Medical Center for treatment. One of these patients died shortly after arriving at the hospital.

Critical Condition

Another patient was listed in critical condition as of Wednesday night and likely was in an intensive care unit. His condition was unknown as of Thursday morning.

The fourth man is expected to survive and may soon be released from the hospital.

The shootings reportedly occurred after a dispute broke out among the four men in the middle of West Chicago Avenue, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Guns Pulled Out

As the argument intensified, at least two of the men pulled out guns and exchanged fire. Numerous witnesses called the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) after hearing the repeated gunfire.

The deadly confrontation didn’t involve members of the public and no one else appeared to have been injured.

Officers are unsure of what led to the dispute, and there was no evidence that the men had been at the Strat before getting into the argument.

LVMPD homicide detectives were searching the crime scene for evidence on Wednesday night. Police are likely attempting to determine how many shots were fired and from which weapon they were discharged.

Officers spoke to the wounded man with minimal injuries and to witnesses to uncover what took place. No charges were filed as of Wednesday night. But it’s possible survivors could be charged in connection with the deadly incident.

The two deceased men will likely undergo autopsies by the Clark County coroner’s office. That way, officials can confirm their identities, and announce the cause and manner of their deaths.

Police didn’t identify the four men as of Wednesday night. They also didn’t identify if they were taken to Valley Hospital by a private individual or by an ambulance crew. The drive between the crime scene and the hospital is an estimated two miles.

More than a year ago, one person died after shots were fired during an argument among several individuals who were also near the Strat. That incident took place on West Baltimore Avenue. At the time of publication, police haven’t linked that shooting to the one this week on West Chicago Avenue.
