Stevens, a father of two, was killed in front of his partner outside The Park Tower Casino in Knightsbridge, one of London’s most affluent districts.

According to early reports, Stevens was stabbed as he attempted to fend off a masked thief who was trying to steal his Rolex watch. But police later said they were keeping an open mind, and the victim may have been killed in a targeted attack.

Police Hunting Alleged Killer

The six defendants – Adnan Hindawi, 25, Ali Hindawi, 24, Nicholas McCoy, 23, Mozahedul Alam, 26, Shafwan Meah, 20, and Jayden Clement-Bryan, 25 – appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday, Feb. 9, Met Police said.

All six were released on bail and are due to appear at the Old Bailey courtroom on Monday, March 9. They are not charged with murder.

Police are still searching for Youssef Razak, 25, who they say is “wanted in connection with the murder.”

The Park Tower Casino, which charges £1,500 (around US$2,000) per night, is located just a block from the iconic Harrods department store.

Guests staying at the casino on June 9 last year reported hearing a commotion and police sirens at about 9:25 p.m. According to one witness, a man was seen lying on the ground as paramedics tried to revive him.

Stevens was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after responders arrived at around 9:30 p.m., according to police.

“We are very saddened by this incident that occurred on the street adjacent to our hotel. Our thoughts are with the victim’s family at this difficult time,” the spokesperson said.

Rise in Crime

Local residents have reported that the area has seen a rise in criminals targeting people carrying high-value items. A hotel spokesperson said the incident did not involve any guests or staff.

The Met renewed its appeal for information to trace Razak and are urging people who may know of his whereabouts to get in contact.

“We continue to follow every possible line of enquiry as part of our investigation,” said Detective Chief Inspector Samantha Townsend, from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, in a statement. “Our thoughts remain with Blue’s family, who continue to be supported by specialist officers.”
