Diana Truschke was staying at the hotel when she attempted to exit through its revolving door on March 21, 2023.

According to the lawsuit filed in Clark County District Court by her surviving son, John, the electric door sped up and “violently ejected” the California resident, throwing her several feet forward onto her face.

Trusche, 78, was rushed the hospital. However, she died from her injuries on Oct. 14, 2024. Those injuries were not specified in the suit.

Her family is suing on the grounds of negligence, negligent hiring, training and supervision and wrongful death. The lawsuit claims the hotel knew, or should have known, that the door was not working properly and did not conform or comply with safety codes.

The lawsuit seeks general and special damages in excess of $15,000 for loss of comfort and companionship, economic damages, future earnings, costs and expenses incurred, physical pain and injury, emotional pain and general damages.

According to court records, a hearing has yet to be scheduled.

Trump International Hotels is not commenting on the lawsuit.
