The former Ballon D’Or winner will join as exclusive UK & Ireland Affiliate Ambassador for 2026, as Casino.org looks to ramp up its presence in the region.

The partnership will see Owen feature across the brand’s Ireland and UK digital channels, sharing his soccer insights, perspectives on the betting markets, and safer gambling guidance.

Clinical Finisher

Owen made his name by moving faster than defenders could think. With explosive pace, elite off-the-ball movement, and clinical finishing, he burst onto the scene as a teenager when he became Liverpool’s youngest goalscorer at 17 years, 143 days.

A year later, he announced himself to the world by scoring that goal for England against Argentina in the 1998 World Cup in France.

Picking up the ball just inside Argentina’s half, the 18-year-old turned and accelerated instantly, exploding past Argentina’s sprawling, frantic defense before rifling a precise finish into Carlos Roa’s net.

After six seasons as Liverpool’s leading goal scorer, Owen moved to Real MadridLos Galácticos – then on to Newcastle United, Manchester United, and, when injuries caught up with him, Stoke City.

Owen won the Ballon d’Or in 2001, the last Englishman to do so, and was later named by Pelé as one of the 100 greatest living players.

Good Match

Now a successful TV soccer pundit and racehorse owner, Owen has made no secret of his fondness for betting, provided it’s done responsibly and through trusted, regulated channels – and that, he says, is where Casino.org comes in.

As gambling continues to grow in the UK, it was important to me to be involved with a brand that prioritizes player safety. Casino.org’s reputation for expertise and integrity aligns with my personal values, and I’m excited to be on board,” he said.

For a man who built his career on timing and instinct, Owen’s signing as a Casino.org brand ambassador feels less like a gamble and more like a three-yard tap-in.
