Great Canadian Entertainment has successfully closed the sale of Elements Casino Chilliwack to a consortium group of certain communities from the Ts’elxwéyeqw Tribe, through an entity affiliated with Ts’elxwéyeqw Tribe Management Ltd.

The deal was originally announced in November 2025, as part of a series of Great Canadian Entertainment casino sales to different First Nations.

“Our communities have built a diverse business portfolio over the years in commercial real estate development, sustainable forestry operations, environmental stewardship and conservation of cultural values, and energy infrastructure,” said Chief David Jimmie, President of Ts’elxwéyeqw Tribe Management Ltd.

Casino Sale Completed

“This acquisition is the next step in that growth. Elements Casino Chilliwack is a strong, established business, and we’re proud to bring gaming and hospitality into our portfolio. This transaction shows what our communities are capable of when we compete and lead in the business world.”

Elements Casino Chilliwack is based in the Fraser Valley region of British Columbia, and features over 300 slots, live and electronic table games, bingo, dining, live entertainment and more.

The Ts’elxwéyeqw Tribe comprises seven First Nations communities and is the First People of the Chilliwack River watershed.

Expanding First Nation Ownership

Ts’elxwéyeqw Tribe Management Ltd. is based in Chilliwack and oversees the tribe’s cultural, economic and business initiatives.

Great Canadian Entertainment announced in March that it had reached an agreement to sell its eighth British Columbia casino property to a First Nation.

Debt Reduction Strategy

The proposed sale of Elements Casino Surrey to SE-MI-AH-MU Development Corp., the economic development arm of Semiahmoo First Nation, remains subject to financial commitments, regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions.

Past media reports said Great Canadian Entertainment was expected to raise $650 million to $675 million from the sale of B.C. casino properties to help pay down debt following Apollo Global Management’s $3.3-billion acquisition of the company in 2021.
