Atlantic City casinos and area businesses are getting ready for Valentine’s Day, which is this Friday, Feb. 14.

Cupid’s arrow has struck the casino capital of the East Coast. The nine casinos in town are offering an array of packages designed for couples, from gaming and entertainment-focused specials to pampering and wellness-oriented deals.
Bally’s is running a two-night bed and breakfast special that comes with $80 in room service credits and a 1 pm late check-out. Ocean Casino Resort is hosting a Jordan Wines and caviar tasting for just $65 a person, and Tropicana will welcome several up-and-coming comedians for a special Valentine’s Day Comedy Showcase.
Resorts is where you’ll find XO Bar, a Valentine’s-themed pop-up watering hole. Atlantic City’s oldest casino is also hosting a candlelight concert featuring a string quartet playing everything from Elton John and The Beatles to Lady Gaga.
Hard Rock is running a three-course prix-fixe at its Council Oak Steaks & Seafood for $119 per person that includes the option of an 18-ounce dry-aged bone-in strip steak. Borgata has a “couples escape” that includes a $300 spa credit, $25 for in-room dining, and $100 for dining.
Golden Nugget will put champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries in your guestroom for $69, while Harrah’s will bring heart-shaped red velvet pancakes with a pomegranate mimosa to your room for $21.
From Galentine’s gatherings to romantic dinners and luxurious experiences, there’s something special waiting for everyone in our vibrant destination,” reads the Visit Atlantic City website, which is a public-private partnership with the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority.
The CRDA is primarily funded by casino taxes.
Mass Vow Renewal
Many local businesses surrounding the Boardwalk casinos are also running special promotions and events for Valentine’s Day.
The Atlantic City Country Club is hosting a “paint and sip” class for $85, and the Anchor Rock Club is hosting a “Valentine’s Emo Night” with no cover charge. At the Absecon Lighthouse, an “evening of romance” for $40 will allow couples to take part in a group vow renewal ceremony with a non-denominational minister in the Keeper’s Cottage.
More wedding vow renewals will also take place at the Tropicana, as the casino’s Boogie Nights nightclub is being converted this weekend into the Atlantic City Chapel of Love. Dubbed the “ultimate wedding experience,” a mass vow renewal will take place shortly after doors open at 9 pm.
“The party will continue with a night full of dancing, surprise performances, featured cocktails, photo ops, and more,” the production told Casino.org.
The AC Chapel of Love is no ballroom wedding; it is the ultimate party and celebration of love,” added David Pena, creator of the Boogie Nights Dance Club and Atlantic City Chapel of Love. “We’ve never seen a wedding chapel like this here on the East Coast and in our home of Atlantic City. Boogie Nights is the perfect venue for couples looking for out-of-the-box, no-fuss options to say, ‘I do.'”
Admission costs just $10 from 9 pm to 10 pm before increasing to $15. VIP table packages start at $250, with complimentary beverages provided up to the table charge.
Valentine’s Day Explained
Also called Saint Valentine’s Day and the Feast of Saint Valentine, today’s modern Valentine’s Day is often labeled a Hallmark holiday, or a holiday that is seen as being primarily commercial rather than a celebration of a significant event or religious reason.
However, Valentine’s Day is rooted in the Christian faith to honor a martyr named Valentine. How it became a day to celebrate love is unclear, though there is plenty of speculation. One rumor is that a Catholic priest or bishop who married couples in defiance of the emperor, who was beheaded on Feb. 14 for doing so, was responsible for the day becoming a symbol for love.
Valentine’s wasn’t a day of romance until around the 14th century. The National Retail Federation says U.S. consumers will spend a record $27.5 billion on Valentine’s Day in 2025.
