Hard Rock Bet reports that a $2 bet on an online slot machine won more than $1.93 million for one lucky player. The win, officially $1,937,382, occurred on the Hot Rod Hog title, a game from Bragg Gaming Group.

The mega jackpot occurred on June 4 at 6:23 pm. The player was gambling online from Trenton.

The $1.93 million jackpot comes less than a month after another Hard Rock Bet casino player won more than $1.94 million on a $1.20 spin. That win came in South Plainfield, with a woman named Deborah allowing her first name to be disclosed.

Bragg is a Toronto-headquartered business-to-business iGaming content and technology services provider. Along with Hard Rock Bet, the company produces games for DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, and Caesars Sportsbook.

Online Slot Jackpots

Hard Rock Bet slot players can participate in the platform’s proprietary jackpot system across four progressive tiers. By opting in for 20 cents per spin, players have the chance to hit a Mini, Minor, Major, or Mega jackpot.

Every eligible spin carries the random chance to win. There is no need to first hit a bonus round or land on special reel symbols.

To see a second Mega Jackpot winner within a month speaks to the excitement and momentum behind Hard Rock Bet jackpots. We’re thrilled for our winner and excited to continue delivering these unforgettable moments for our players,” said Rich Criado, vice president of casino at Hard Rock Digital.

Of course, many more players lose than win on Hard Rock Bet and New Jersey’s other iGaming websites and apps. Through April, online casinos in New Jersey have kept more than $1 billion of players’ bets from slots and table games. The year-to-date iGaming revenue is up over 15% from the prior year.

Hard Rock Bet reported gross iGaming revenue of $71.3 million for the four months. That’s a year-over-year surge of 56%.

FanDuel is the dominant operator in New Jersey, with year-to-date iGaming revenue of $238.5 million. DraftKings is second at $184.5 million, BetMGM is third at $132.1 million, Borgata is fourth at $85.6 million, and Caesars Palace rounds out the top five at $74.4 million.

Hard Rock Bet operates iGaming in New Jersey through a partnership with Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City. Both entities are owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida.

Are Online Slots Looser Than Casino Machines?

Return to player, or RTP rates, are typically a bit better on online slots than on machines found on a physical casino floor. Physical casino slots often pay out around 85% to 90%, meaning a player should expect to lose $10 to $15 for every $100 gambled.

Online slots are often programmed to RTP rates above 90%, with some as high as 96%. Online casinos have less overhead, as there is no rent for a physical location or costs for on-site employees.
